| From West Central Mississippi Vicksburg to be exact! I am a proud mom to Gabby who's 8 1/2 years old and I nicknamed her "Miss Piggy"...lol...she weighs in at 11 pounds!! I am also mom to Gage, a rescue yorkie that a distant friend gave to me because he just didn't have time to fool with him. Although I love Gabby very much, my heart is really going out to Gage. He's 11 months old and weighs no more than 3 1/2 pounds. It was very obvious to me when I got him that he had been abused, both physically and emotionally. I've had him for 4 months and he is just now starting to come to me when I call and not back away from me when I put my hands out to him. It broke my heart when I first got him...he shook almost all the time and would rather run and hide than come to you. Vet says he's healthy but it will just take lots of love and time for him to realize we aren't the "bad guys" in his life. Patience has been our house-guest since Gage joined and we are starting to be rewarded!! He has even started giving us "kisses" in the past couple weeks!! At first, my husband didn't want to have another inside dog but he didn't stop me. Now he admits we did the right thing getting Gage out of the house he had been in! Why people want to own dogs that they don't have time, or patience, to deal with, I'll never understand. I'm just so happy to have Gage in our house. He and Gabby get along so well with their human brothers who are 15 and 12. I used to dream of the day I could have a house full of yorkies. For now, I've very content with Gabby and Gage. Looking forward to meeting everyone! |

| Tarrant, Al. here. Mom to 10 month old Auburn fan Herk ate my husband's Alabama golf shirt before he ever wore it. Guess he's not a Roll Tide fan. |

| This is my first time posting in the regional forums. I would like to get to know more yorkie owners from my area. My name is Trish and I live in Schriever, Louisiana. Schriever is a very tiny town 60 miles southwest of New Orleans. Smack in the middle of Houma and Thibodaux. I love meeting new people especially those of you who are yorkie owners.

| Wanting to be a new Mom Happy New Year, I just found this sweet site last night. I adore all of the babies that are here. I am from Mobile, AL and looking to me a Mom to a cutie like you guys have. Here is my story....some of you might understand. I have 3 kids and two of them are in college(no more babies). My last one will be leaving soon and I am begining the empty nest syndrom. I didn't think it would be this bad, but it is. On the other end, my hubby is ill and not able to work. So depression is here. I have been telling everyone that I know to look out for a baby for me. I mentioned it to a good friend of mine. She told me that she knew someone that was trying to sell theres for $200, because she wasn't able to spend more time with her. Potty trained and 2 years old. WOW!! Too perfect. Well, I found out about it too late. She already sold her, when my girlfriend mentioned to her that I was interested. So if anyone knows where I can purchase or adopt a baby, please let me know! I want to put my baby's picture up also. Thanks, |

| Hi and welcome to YT! We have a home in Anniston ... my hubby's job is in Colorado where we will be living for several years. After reading your post, you all definitely need a Yorkie!! We bought our little girl, Toto, in 2003 from a show breeder in Marietta, GA. She is without a doubt the smartest thing we have ever done. Our kids are all grown and have their own lives. My husband is constantly saying how she has "enriched" our lives! She is a "tad" spoiled .... OK, she is totally spoiled and our lives revolve around her!! We make every decision only after considering her comfort, health, safety & happiness!! I have worked my entire life until my husband requested that I retire and be with Toto all the time! So ... I am finally, after forty-something years of being in the work-force, a "stay-at-home Nonnie"!!! How silly is that?? We also don't care how silly it is!!! There are lots of Yorkies in different "Rescues" .... my friend works with United Yorkie Rescue & I don't think I have seen any in Alabama but I will be glad to ask her. They require that residents of the state where they are rescued be the ones to adopt them. Good luck in your search ... if I can help you, please let me know!!
