| Another "situation" with Shena's surgery Shena had surgery on her paw on Tuesday to have that tumor removed. Well today she went in in the morning to get the bandage removed. The vet comes in and says "well it doesnt look good." Her foot is infected, so we are going to put her on an antibiotic (shouldnt she had been on one in the first place since she had surgery? That's what I thought).. and we cant bandage it we want it to be out in the "air" to help the infection. They give me an "e" collar and I go home. I put Shena in her crate for 2 hours while I took my 2 year old daughter to this pony ride thing. When we got back, I brought Shena out, and sure enough with e collar on and all, the stitches are ripped out completely and it looks raw and very bloody. We rushed her back to the vet, and they said there isnt enough skin now to restitch it. She tore off the skin! I cant believe her! OUCH! So they put on an antibiotic ointment and we wrapped it. Now they want me to bring her back every other day to put more cream on it and rewrap it, they want it as dry in there as possible. Poor Shena!!! I cant believe it is infected and now a longer process. So anyway, keep her in your prayers that infection heals okay now that they had to rebandage her! Oh, and the vet totally doesnt believe me that she did this with the e collar. She said you cant take her out of it for a minute! I told her I never took the collar off! She was chewing at her paw in the car on the way to the vet with it on. She is very agile aparently.... Thanks for listening! |
