| Do Yorkies loose hair at 4 months??? My Yorkie Tybo is loosing hair under his neck and on his legs...I know his hair is changing colors but it is also getting much thinner as you can tell from the photos I posted he lost his little neck ring as I call it...My husband says it it normal and I've had him take Tybo to the vet twice because It just doesn't look normal to me...The vet said he is fine. And his scratching is from alergies so we have changed his food to a more natural food with no corn by products because I read you all talking about that...I looked through the photos of other Yorkies and their is one or two that have less hair like him at this age but most have more hair...Am I worried about notheing..Did I just get one with a thinner coat???

| You possibly just purchased one w/ a thinner coat. If he's actually loosing coat, that's shouldn't be happening. Can you post pictures? |

| They shouldnt lose hair however at about that age My Jewels lost alot of hair on her back. They did a skin scape and checked her for mites but couldnt find a reason for the hair loss. She was put on antibiotcs for a week. Anyway her hair grew back and we didnt have anymore problems

| Yeah, if she has a thin coat to start, that's fine. If the hair was once there and now it's not in those areas....there's clearly something up. When testing for things like mites, if the infestation isn't severe, a vet can do multiple scrapings and never find a mite or any signs of there being mites beyond the clinical symptoms of them being a potential. When it comes to food, dogs can be allergic to all sorts of things. I had an Akita once that was allergic to ALL poultry products and by products. Is he still itching? No fleas for him to be scratching and digging at, right? (The fleas don't have to be ON him for him to be experiencing the occasional "fly by biting" of a few while on walks or elsewhere) The skin isn't irritated underneath the hair that remains? |

| No, try this: Go to: http://www.photobucket.com Load what photos you want, you can resize them and everything there, and then once that's done, open another window to yorkietalk.com and then copy the link(s) from Photobucket to here in your dialogue box! And voila! Can't wait to see 'em! |
