| Windsor's sick-How much to feed chicken/rice Windsor is sick with a stomach bug. Diahreah, vommiting, slight fever and was dehydrated. The vet gave him fluids, a shot of antibiotics and sent him home with Amoxi Drops, Flagly and Reglan. He is on a bland diet, chicken/rice or fish and potatoes even pasta the vet said as long as it is bland. My dilema..... how much do I give him? He has always been free fed, I leave dry food out all the time and give chicken, meats and vegis when I cook dinner. I'm afraid of giving too much or too little. He weighs 5 1/2 lbs. Any help would be appreciated.

| Awww, poor dude I'd give him small amounts (a tablespoon or so) and give more when he's kept it down for a while (say, an hour or so?) Then slowly increase the amount and the time in between feedings until he's more or less on a regular feeding schedule. If he doesn't keep his food down, I'd take him back to the vet, or call them at least. I hope that he's better very soon

| He's loving the new diet, thinks he's just getting people food all the time now. I'm afraid it'll be hard getting them both back on the dry food after this clears up, ZsaZsa is eating the same as Windsor. I didn't want to try to keep them on seperate diets.

| if you are home with windsor all day then feed him er small amounts (half teaspoon) every 3 hours. If you are not home, feed him once in the morning and once a night about a teaspoon of chicken and rice. I usually boil water and and the chicken to make congee. Hope he feels better.

| Wow, i think i'm feeding him too much. He ate at least 1/2 a cup this afternoon and I was going to give him some more this evening...... He hasn't thrown up again, guess that's good. Sure didn't like taking his liquid medicine this evening. Have to work tomorrow, I took off today so I can't stay home again. I guess I'll wait and feed him in the morning.

| I give Gracie the same amount of food as with dry mixed with canned. I judge by how much food is on the plate. Might give a bit more of the bland. She scarfs down the bland diet, she thinks it is a treat!
