| My baby is in surgery..... My sweet Sassy is in for spay today. I did check with the vet about the anesthesia they will use and it is isoflurane and I was glad for that. I also ordered the blood test that they can do to see if she can handle the anesthesia. They said it is about 40 dollars...I don't care...just do it. I should be picking her up around 2:00 this afternoon. She was so scared to be there that she got hic-cups. There was also a HUGE bulldog there that wanted her. Scared me. The girl that had him could barely hold him back....she had a baby on one hip and the bulldog leash in the other hand. Whew!! Of course, she said "He won't hurt her. He likes little dogs." HA! Be still, my heart. Since she couldn't have anything to eat or drink past midnight, I tried and tried to get her to drink and eat before then. Nope. No way. Then, at the stroke of midnight, she wanted to. AAArrrggghhh!! Kept me up until 2 in the morning trying to persuade me. Then when we got up she begged and begged. I felt just terrible!! So....here I am, just waiting for 2:00. I would try to take a nap if I could so the time would seem to go quickly, but I am just too nervous. She is soooo tiny. |

| Lots of prayers going to Sassy and you. I'm sure she'll do just fine. If you bring her home today, and she was spayed today, she'll be VERY groggy, and kinda stumbling. I had to pick Venus up and take her outside, and still no pee or poop, but heck she hadn't eaten since the night before. By tomorrow, she should be back to her normal self. |

| Bless her heart! Rebel was neutered yesterday and I felt exactly the way you do now. I'm sure she'll be fine, but I know you can't wait to have her back in your arms.

Now I am worried (never ends, eh ) about the stairs to bed and couch. Guess I should just move them so she ca't use them. Ahhh.....but then .....she will probably try to jump. **sigh** Guess I am just a natural born worrier. | |

| Aaaahhhh. She is so pitiful. She is still groggy from the anesthetic and both her back legs are bandaged ebcause she had dewclaws removed. I have to go hold her. She seems so sad. Will let you knw more later. My gosh, if she tried to play it would stress me out. |

| I am so distressed. She can't get comfortable. She is making noises that I have never heard her make before .... kinda like a cross between a very soft chicken cluck with a small grunt at the end and whines in between. She tries to lay down, moves around, trying to find a comfortable spot and does this over and over. I just don't know what to do for her. This is awful!! I called the vet back and the girl there said she has already had pain medication so I can give her nothing. I think my heart is breaking. I am just anguished. |

| you can roll a very soft blanket that she can straddle that will keep her legs apart & away from the incision. A little soft pressure always seems to help. Just hold her with the soft blankie on her belly, she will go to sleep & probably feel alot better in the morning. Poor mom & baby. Hope you both get rest & feel better tomorrow. |

| Venus was pretty pitiful the same day as the operation. But the next morning, she was back to her old self, except she didn't want to even try to jump on the sofa for several days. Just hold and cuddle her, you'll both get through this together. |

| I know how you feel, my Emma did the same thing. Its so sad to see them like that huh. The chicken cluck thing is from the tube that was in her throat. It will clear up in a couple of days but it really freaked me out to. Maybe give her a popsicle to lick, it will help like it helps us. I hope she has a very fast recovery!!!
