| ![]() my baby laila was coming down our hard wood stairs and i guess she missed her step and fell two steps down. she didn't cry when she fell, but she didn't fall gracefully. i checked her out and she seemed fine, but after 30 minutes she starts limping!!!! its her right front paw that she doesn't want to use.. its be about 2 hours since it happened and she's still the same =( she doesn't seem to be in pain, but i don't want her leg to worsen.. has anyone had a similar situation where their yorkies limp and then the next day they got better? im asking this because my other yorkie lucky took a fall one time and was limping, but he later walked normal.. im for sure going to the vet tomorrow if she doesn't get better.... do you think her leg is broken? for all the people who's yorkies broke a leg, did your babies cry in pain? what were their symptoms besides limping? |

| ![]() I think if it were broken, she'd be yelping in pain. I think I'd watch her tonight and if she's still limping tomorrow, take her in.

| ![]() thanx you guys for giving me some info.. im trying to relax so she can. i ran my hand all over her leg and shoulder to see if anything was out of place, but everything is normal. i bent her leg and manipulated it to see if she does cry, but no luck. what does this mean? she just sprained her leg? if she did, does that still require a leg cast, etc? |

| ![]() Oh, poor little one. She may have sprained her little foot, in which case it probably just needs rest but I don't think they would cast it. They don't for people anyway. Wish I could help more. Maybe someone who has some experience with that will post. |

| ![]() Check the hair growth on her pads, Pippa slipped and fell down the stairs when her hair was too long on her pads.

| ![]() Piper hurt her leg when she was little in the morning & wouldn't walk on it. I took her to the vet right away. The vet put her in a cage and watched her all morning. By late afternoon she was putting pressuse on it again. So he never had to do xrays. turned out to be a little sprain. She was fine the next day.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() Is she using her leg this morning? if not she may have sprained it. Just keep her well rested. If she's using it then i bet she just scared herself too much. she probably did hurt it some way but not that bad. Probably like when you stub your toe or hit your knee on the coffee table. Yeah it hurts like hell but you know nothing is broken. She doesn't have a clue. she just knows that something hurts so she better not use it right now.
