| Lacey just squealed? She was lying down with my wife... then she let out this "squeal", started breathing heavy and had a wide eyed expression. We set her down on her feet, and she stayed there for a second or two... when slid down to her belly. Repeated the action, same result. Third time, she walked over and peed, still while standing up. Any thoughts? |

| It sounds like she is in pain. Has the Vet ran a bile acid test to check her for liver shunt?

| Willow and I are so sorry to hear about poor baby Lacey. These babies are so fragile and it sounds like her care before she came to you was very lacking. She may be suffering from something that happened to her before she came to you. She may have had a bad hypoglycemic attack and was down a long time and has not recovered. She is obviously in pain. Is there a University Vet Hospital anywhere near you? They are always so good with these little babies. My Willow is at the University of Minnesota Hospital right now recovering from surgery to repair a broken leg. I got Willow from a fantastic breeder that has been there every step of the way with me. I wish you could call her. We did nutrical when Willow first came home and she also told me to put baby chicken food on her hard food to entice her to keep eating. It worked. But Willow sounds like she didn't have the problems in her earliest months that Lacey may have had. We will say our prayers that baby Lacey gets better real soon. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope you can get her into the vet. My Cali had 3 hypoglycemic episodes and many er vet visits. I would make sure you have a vet who is familiar with tinies. Good luck I know how stressful it is when these babies are sick so much. I will keep Lacey in my prayersa.

| I haven't read any of your previous posts about your puppy yet - I gather that she has had a few trips to the vet though already... but, is it possible that she had GAS? I only say this because Oscar scared the living daylights out of me once doing the same thing. He was laying on the couch with me.. then he just sat up and let out a squeal - loud, and long - then stopped. He did it once more and I rubbed his belly, checked for any 'tender' spots on his body and got no reaction. He eventually went back to sleep and woke up and was himself - never had a problem. I asked the vet about it later that week and she said it could very well have been gas pains. Apparently upset tummies/gas, etc. are way more uncomfortable for dogs than it is for us. I don't know, I hope it's nothing - but like everyone says - if there's a history of some problems, then maybe a trip to the vet would be a good idea. Hope everything turns out okay! Good luck!
