| Starsky Got hit by a car!!!!!!!!! Or should I say Starsky hit a car . He darted out of the house this morning when I was putting trash in the garage and the garage door was opened. He bolted and ran right into a moving car and hit the passenger door! The car had stopped quick because the driver saw him running out. Had it been a few seconds sooner or later, I think Starsky would have gone under the tire. I just vision this over and over in my mind. Turns out Starsky is okay. He hit the car and bounce back with a yelp and came running back to me. I massaged every bone and muscle in his body to see if it hurt anywhere. He acted fine. I called the vet to see what signs I should watch for and when to bring him in if I saw any. We were going to a family reunion today and wasn't planning on bringing him, (just Shylah because she can't be crated that long) Well we ended up bringing him too so we could observe him through out the day. He did fine all day. I bet he may be sore tomorrow. If he is I may take him in to the vet to get muscle relaxers or something. He was so lucky!! I was so shaken up about it all, and kept saying what if..... I know it will be awhile that this episode will play in my mind. New rules have been set in this house that the outside garage door has to be closed before going out in the garage through the door to the house. Also I will have to work with both the dogs on not running out of the house when a door opens. Any advice on training tricks will be helpful. Starsky has found out we have wild bunnies out front and he wants to chase them. THANK GOD, AND HIS GAURDIAN ANGEL, HE IS ALRIGHT!!!

| Wow!! I'm sure glad he's OK. How terrified you must have been. They can move so fast can't they? I would have taken him with me too, you would have worried about him all day otherwise. So glad he's OK.

| I am so glad that Starsky is alright. There have been to many fatal accidents on YT lately and Thank Goodness Starsky's accident didn't end in a tragedy. Our babies are so precious.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so glad he is alright. I worry about Cali running out because I let my Pom out the front door alot as she never runs away and I make sure I either have Cali in my arms or my foot from stoping her. As she has gotten older she doesn't try to get out like she use to.

| Thank goodness he is OK! What I would do is everytime you go out any door in your home have him sit and wait until you open the door and say "Come" or whatever command you choose. Only then would he be allowed to go out the door. Keep some treats handy and I'm sure he'll get it real soon..... Good Luck.... |

Take some tips from the dog whisperer and teach your dog to never run out the door ahead of you. Before I open my door, both dogs must stay back. I taught this by pushing them back with my foot as I open the door and command "stay". Now they automtically wait to be invited to go out the door. | |

| OM Gosh!!! My heart stopped when I saw the subject line! I thank the good Lord that Starsky wasn't run over! These things happen so fast! One time Maddie did the same thing...if the truck coming down the hill had been about 5 seconds faster, she's have been history. Maddie sends lots of kisses to Starsky and you! He's special to us, you know...you are too!!! Big hugs!!!
