my baby is throwing up!! Last night I heard Will making an odd noise so I checked on him and he was getting sick. I put him down in the floor and got down with him, of course!! He started spitting up, it was little piles of looked like white foam. He was fine after around 2 minutes and we went back to bed. He woke up again and the same thing happened. Then this morning when we got up the same thing happened again. He is fine as long as he hasn't been sleeping. He only spits up and it isn't big piles just small piles of what looks like foam. Any ideas what could be wrong with my baby? Thanks for your help. |
My dogs and cats throw up occasionally - and it has never been a problem - other than, they just do it! But your little guy has thrown up several times over a longer period of time, so I'd suggest keeping an eye on him. It think that even though he has thrown up a few times, the best indictor of how he is is how he feels. Is he being his usual self, being playful, affectionate, etc. If so, I wouldn't be too worried. If it were something really serious, it would probably have developed into something more serious (with his acting sick) by now. Sometimes this heat or even other things (something he ate yesterday) can cause a temporary bout of throwing up. Continue to let us know how he's doing. Keep him drinking fluids - and don't force food down him for a day or two. The last thing an upset stomach needs to do is work at digesting food. Sometimes their little tummys (and ours) need a rest. PS: I'm not necessarily suggesting this, but when my pup seems to have an upset stomach, I give him a Tums. I know a Tums won't hurt him, and I can't help but feel that it will cut down on the acid (like it does for us) and make him more comfortable. Good luck- Carol Jean |
Sometimes they throw up a white foam in reaction to a wormer. Has he been wormed recently? Also, white foam can indicate tonsilitis. Is he refusing to eat? |
Sometimes they throw up foamy stuff if they have an empty stomach. Some people with dogs with that problem feed them a little in the evening, so they don't have to go long with an empty stomach. Maddie will sometimes throw up foamy stuff in the morn if she hasn't eaten. Hope your little one is feeling better! |
Will is much better I feed him a snack and he hasn't thrown up since. Thank you all for your help!! |
Glad to hear that. Cali was throwing up foam just about every morning for a couple of months and now I feed her her last feeding at 10:00 pm and she is fine. I find with her that she cannot go longer than 10 hours with out food ot she throws up the bile. Cali is now 1 year old and has only done it once in the past 4 months. |
