| Don't scare me!! my little tiger gave me a scare this morning! when i put him in his cage at like 2:30 AM<-----!! he was perfectley fine but when i woke up at 5:30 he was sick and throwing up. i tried giving him water put it would just come back up again! then i tried giving him karo syrup but he didnt even bother licking it off his nose! so i took him to the DENTON COUNTY ANIMAL EMERGNECY HOSPITAL and there the told me that his blood sugar was 29% when it was suppost to be 100%! and they also said he was very dehidrated. so they did some stuff to him and gave him an iv and he was just as happy as ever it was a little expensive but it was sooooooooooo worth it to kno that mi baby is happy and healthy and he's also due for his booster shot 2morrow

| Glad to hear he's better and the hair will grow back. In my experience, if they have had one hypoglycemic episode they will have another. To try to prevent this, feed small amounts at least 3x a day, preferably 4, give Nutrical, nutristat or nutridrops 3x a day, don't let the baby get overly cold, stressed or tired. They don't actually have to eat the karo, nutrical, etc. it can be absorbed through their gums or you can even give it rectally. Of course, a vet can give a glucose injection which works really fast and also an injection for dehydration so you did the right thing in an emergency situation. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I'm sorry he was sick and glad he is better. Cali has had 5-6 hypoglycemic episodes so like Lacy's Mom said they do usually have more than one. I fed Cali every -3-4 hours until she was 7 months old and now she gets fed 3 times a day and a snack. Her last meal is at 10 pm. I know what you mean about their little leg being bald. Cali ha one leg shaved then a week later was back at the Er vet for IV and they shaved the other leg so at least she matched. I would also give regular doses of Nutrical. Good luck!
