| Scary 12 Hours We just went though he** yesterday. First I found a little black cap from a tube on the floor. I was upstairs and looked everywhere for the tube it should go with. I couldn't find anything. A couple of hours later I went downstairs and was talking to my elderly father and saw a chewed up white tube sitting on the floor of his room. When I picked it up and read it, my blood ran cold. It was electric trimmer oil and the warnings on it said fatal if swallowed. I looked more closely at Pogo and realized that he had an oil residue on his front paws and around his mouth. I have never moved so fast. We got him to the vets in 10 minutes. They wanted to keep him for twelve hours but I felt we would watch him better. They gave him a shot to prevent vomiting and gave us some meds to give him to coat his intestines. We then went home to start our 12 hour wait. If he went that long without symptoms, we were in the clear. No food for all that time either. What is also very bizarre about this is that he was supposed to go in today for surgery on his luxated patella. We have canceled that for a week. I am happy to report thta he is symtom free almost 24 hours later. WE GOT LUCKY. It was a very old tube so it may not have had much in it. We are so careful, I couldn't figure out how this happened. My Father had had the trimmer case under the bed and somehow Pogo had found it. The moral of this story is that you just never know. I am now going to look around somemore and make sure we have covered EVERYTHING! Take Care All! a VERY relieved Gina |

| WOW how scary! Im glad you got your baby looked at and taken care of! I had a scare the other night as well. I found a little pill package on my bedroom floor ripped open. The blister to the pill was chewed and poked like Kelsey might've gotten into it. It was an anihistimine pill (kinda like a benedryl) and it was 10mg. . I called the emergency vet and they said she should be fine to just keep a good eye on her. And they gave me the poison controls phone number and they said for me to keep an eye on her b/c she might have a seizure! I was so scared...making sure she wasn't acting funny etc. her bowel movements and playing was all normal...thank god! She is fine. Yey.

| sp glad to hear that he is doing good. Thank God! They can get into anything! You just never know. I have found out that the best thing to do, is get down on all fours and that way you can see things from their point of view. under couches and chairs, tables, and beds, etc. Good luck in your puppy proofing.

| Not just the floors, Heather. These little boogers can climb, too!!! I can have something in my hands and if I look a way for a second, Dublin will snatch it and run!! I had all the dog collars/harnesses in my lap last night changing their tags, and Dublin snatched one and off he goes under the bed with it! He's so fast!! The other day my hubby was eating on a TV tray in the den, and Dub grabbed food right off his plate under his nose!! Again off like a flash-chomping as he runs!!! He's sneaky as all get out!!!

| We all know we should keep a lot of things out of reach for our little dogs - and children also. But, unfortunately, in the best of homes, these accidents still happen. But, these accidents always remind us to be even more careful. I'm glad your puppy ended up with no real problems. And, I can imagine how worried you were. You were a good girl - getting your puppy to the vet that quickly. Carol Jean |

| Thanks everyone! We are off to the groomers today for a puppy cut. I want his hair short so he doesn't get matted post surgery. Have a great weekend all! Gina |

| I am impressed as to how you handled it all. I too would think I could keep better watch of him at home than to leave him at the vet. you did good. I am glad every thing came out alright.
