| Diagnosis of Proteinuria Thumper was diagnosed with proteinuria in November and I have been working with a specialist to regulate the protein in his urine. At it highest in December it was 8.1 and now is down to 1.2. I believe the normal ratio is .1 so still some way to go but so much better than what it was before. Has anybody dealt with this diagnoses before? It is a bit overwhelming and would like to hear other's experience with managing it. On top of Thumper having proteinuria he also has Cushing's Disease which complicates things. He is one a ton of meds and they are being tweaked each month until we find the right balance to keep him regulated. Right now he is seeing the specialist every month to recheck his UPC, renal blood work and blood pressure until he stabilizes. He is on the following regiment but the vet is thinking of increasing his Telmisartan to see if that will help the protein in his urine. Thank god for pet insurance as the meds are over $200 a month for everything. 1. Vetryl 10 mg 2x a day 2. Enaparil 5 mg 2x a day 3. Alodapine 3/4 tablet 2x a day 4. Plavix 1/4 tablet once a day 5. Telmisartan 3 mg capsule once a day (waiting to hear back from specialist as he is thinking of increasing it to 6 mg a day)
