| Car sick My 4 mo old yorkie gets seriously car sick every time I try to take her in the car. She starts vomiting within 1 mile of home and doesn’t stop, even when there is nothing left to vomit then she dry heaves until we stop. The vet has a medicine for it but won’t let her take it for short trips, so no groomer, no driving to the park and even to the vet. Anyone have any ideas on what I can give her to prevent it so we can go do things close to home? |

| Welcome back, car motion is making your pup sick. I adopted a 2 1/2 year old pup that got car sick, I knew I had to get him elevated off the passenger seat where he would not feel the wheels motion. I chose a booster seat that is elevated off the seat and he can see out of the window. There are many booster seat styles, I chose the one I felt was best suited for my pup. 6 years in the seat and has never been car sick. My guy is 12 pounds, I chose the size large that gives him room to lie down in. Name of booster seat at Pet supplies….Tagalong Pet Booster Seat…large size holds up to 18 Lb dog. Basket dimensions: 16” W x 14”D x 8” H cost then was $30.

| Thank you for responding. I already have that carseat for her. She still gets sick. I have also tried holding her while my husband drives and she still gets sick. |

| When she is in the car seat, is the seat in the front or the back of the car.

| Her seat is in the 2nd row of our suv. I have also tried the front seat but it doesn’t make a difference. |

| The booster seat, does it set on the seat of your vehicle or is it elevated off the seat.

| Does the seat sit on the passenger seat, as you can see in the photo I attached (sorry it came out side ways) that booster seat is off the seat, there is space between the floor of the booster seat and the passenger seat, my booster seat does not touch any part of the passenger seat. There are booster seats that sit on the passengers seat, are elevated so dogs can see out of the window. So I am asking, your booster seat, does is set on the seat of the passengers seat.

| You can try benadryl. They can very much grow out of it. My now 12 year old girl grew out of it.

| Ok, thank you for clarifying. I am not a fan of giving a dog meds just to get them in a car. My vet also gave me meds which I didn't use. Most car sick meds have to be given an hour before the dog goes in the car. As Lovetodream has suggested you may want to try the Benadryl.

| Use children's liquid benadryl and it's 0.4mL per pound. It would be 2mL
