| Yes I took him to the vet last week and they put him on an anti inflammatory medication for about 10 days. They said sometimes this will help. |

| What did they say it is? Your subject line says tracheal collapse....was that the diagnosis? Is it just thinking he might have it?? Not all coughing is due to CT ...

| One of my now passed girls around age 11 yo started coughing, she coughed so much I didn't know how she could breathe. I took her to the vet, it was her heart. She was given meds with follow up one a month, sorry, I cannot recall what the name of the med was but it did stop the coughing.

| If it is indeed tracheal collapse, there are different meds that are used. I have found each case to be so different in terms of symptoms and response to meds and/or treatment.

Let me add, he was not on it daily. It does have a small amount of prednisone in it so ideally with pred you try to give the minimum amount and dose it every other day so that the adrenals will still function.

| Dear Karen, Would you have a chance to see electrocardiogram of mookie? If lung has water because of heart failure, the dog tends to cough. Heart failure is common among small old dogs. Sincerely yours, Pepu |

| Gracie is coughing too She has CT, but the vet says now she also has an enlarged heart. She is 4 now, seems too early for her to have heart issues. Heartbreaking. He put her on a bronchodilator in hopes this might help... |

I have never had any success with bronchodilators for CT. I have heard some say they have. There are so many different meds that can be tried if it doesn't help her. Welcome to YT

| Enlarged heart I think our vet wants us to take her to a specialist anyway, but will try the med first. Strange, she is snorting now. |
