I hope the answer comes sooner than later. It can be a bit of journey w/ stuff such as this, so try to patient...I know you want an answer asap. I would too. And lastly, go with your gut and keep pushing to explore vaccinosis if you think it's that. You could very well be correct! Keep us posted, would love to hear that she is eventually doing better.

Yorkie Yakker | Anti-vaccinosis I gave Izzie the anti-vaccinosis the day before we went to UT. I didn't realize I would get an appointment that soon. So after we got the results that afternoon, I brought her home and gave her the second dose of the anti-vaccinosis. They say only give 2 days. Would you believe she got up and for the first time in 1 1/2 months she didn't do it. I was ecstatic, however, she got up and did it this morning but not nearly as bad. I do not know what tomorrow will bring. I'm still hopeful especially since they don't think it is collapsed trachea. |

Yorkie Yakker | I haven't been on in quite a long time but wanted it inform those that had read my posts about my little Izzie. UT proved she did not have collapsed trachea and they did a bronchoscopy on her. She got pneumonia and was in the hospital for several days and almost died. The culture proved it was the bordetella bacteria. I was right all along. The Doctor at UT thinks that when they gave her the oral vaccine after surgery she aspirated it. She has been on antibiotics for so long but still can't get rid of it. She goes back to UT next week for another procedure (trachea wash) to culture. I am so worried that she will never get over. The oral vaccine is a modified live virus. How I wish that I had not let them give it to her. |

| Thank you so very much for informing us about Izzie. That was so kind of you to keep us up to date on her situation. Now you are certain of your suspicions and that must be of some help to know it. I am so sure you wish it had never been given to her. I am so sorry this had to happen to her and you and I hope this will come out to the best for her. If you are able please let us know her future results on this. Bless you and her.

| Are you talking about the stuff the squirt in their noses? Is there an oral version too? Or are you talking about the nasal stuff? Is it better to get the shot for bordatella? This is so scary i don't ever want to go through that.

| I have done the nasal one for 10 years on my older girl, I did it for 5 years on my moms yorkie before he passed and then Joey who is one has had it twice and Penny has had it once and never had any issues. I will continue to do it because my dogs go out a lot and to dog events and we have had no issues.

Yorkie Yakker | Yes there are 3 kinds, the nasal, the oral and the shots. Bronco-Shield created an oral one in 2012. Izzie got the oral one. She had just had her spaying and they gave it to her which was the first mistake. You are not supposed to give it if they are sick. After surgery is a weakened condition and she weighed less than 3 pounds. The UT doctor thinks she aspirated the vaccination and it went into her lungs. After hearing that I googled aspiration of oral bordetella vaccination and found someone that it happened to and it was a husky and after a year it still had the exact same symptoms as Izzie. If I can get her well, she will never get it again. |
