| Update on Zeus after FHO Surgery I took Zeusy for his 4 week checkup, and the vet was overly pleased. He is way past where he should be. He barely picks the leg up at all. Only when he is standing for a long period -- like at the food bowl for example. I'm so happy the worst part is over. His luxating patellas are much better, and they do not think he needs surgery for those. They think the limping from the Legg-Calve-Perthes was causing that to be worse in his left leg. Yeah!!!! |

| Yes, he was on an exercise program. Now he can go on walks. I'm very pleased with how well he does. I just think the poor baby feels so much better. We had to change vets to get the diagnosis. Thanks for the well wishes! |

This is why I am a huge fan of second opinions, especially if there is ANY lingering unanswered questions, any confusion about what is being said, etc....go get a second opinion.....and even a third if necessary! We ALL want the very best for our babies......a great, decent, knowledgeable vet understands this and will welcome any questions, suggestions, second opinions, etc. Done properly, with a knowledgeable vet/surgeon/specialist, the outcome for your baby will be optimized! I am thrilled with your baby's progress/outcome! | |

| I agree Yorkiemom1. The first vet told us not to get insurance, because nothing expensive ever really happens -- Zeus is perfectly healthy -- why did I listen. He kept acting weird and holding the leg up. Thank goodness we found a good vet the second time around. The orthopaedic that did his FHO surgery was wonderful, too. |

| Yorkiemom1 is correct about getting a second opinion. I spoke with three vets (at $100 per consultation) and went with a specialist that did only hip surgeries. I was very pleased.
