| grand mal seizure I lost my beautiful Yorkie Poo from a seizure which came on suddenly Sunday. She had a grand maul seizure Sunday morning and a second one several hours later. I brought her to the emergency center and they gave her an anticonvulsant medication which seemed to minimize the severity of the seizures but she continued to have mini seizures. Monday they gave my dog Cortizone pills and pain medication and she passed away several hours later. She had no symptoms and seemed to be a very healthy active dog. On Saturday she was in the middle of the street and I had to pull on her collar to get her to move out of traffic. I'm wondering could a neck injury possibly cause seizures. She weighed 7 pounds and was positive for Lyme disease. I am devastated and can't understand how a healthy dog can die within days. She seemed to put her face up and was uncomfortable bending your head down. Her eyes were bloodshot like she burst a blood vessel and were dilated. I would appreciate any comments on this post. |

| So very, very sorry for the sudden and devastating loss of your little baby. I don't know if jerking her collar would have caused this, something you should have asked the vet. In the future NEVER walk small breed dogs on a collar, use harness ONLY, collar can be used to keeps tags on. Small breed dogs are at risk of collapse trachea (wind pipe) reason they should be walked on a harness only.
