| Belly rash? So, I am back with another picture of Sophie's belly. To start off, yes, she has a vet appointment for her vaccinations on Thursday so she will be seeing a vet this week regardless. I just want to stop googling. This started as a red bump about a week ago and I just figured it was a bite or something and would go away, but has gotten bigger and has this weird black dot pattern building around it. I tried to squeeze/scratch/clean it off but it started to bother her so I stopped. I think some of the black dots were starting to come out and the center looks like it was starting to come off, but she was not impressed so I just left it. I have a before the belly scratch and after picture to show. The picture on the left is before and the picture on the right is after. On the before, you can see a small red dot on the lower prt of the picture - that is what this started out like. I guess I am just wanting opinions? I am terrified she has some sort of cancer on her skin but am trying to remain calm. It is kind of yellow tinged and I guess I am hoping someone has seen something like this before. My husband is leaning toward a skin issue as opposed to a cancer issue, but I googled and compared images and am scared. I am hoping he is right but I am also wanting opinions to know if I should take her alone that day or if he should be there with me. She has always had some of those black specks on her belly and she just had a bath - her white fur is stained yellow, unfortunately. I assure everyone, she is clean! | I just realized how big those pictures make the spot look. It is maybe the size of a small pea and I am pretty sure it isn't itchy or bothering her. The picture on the left was taken in different light apparently. The flash from my camera made her whole belly look really yellow. It's 3am and my husband is getting annoyed! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I so wish I knew more. Wylie has similar "patches" of skin like this, and for him it's just chronically inflamed skin due to his multiple issues. So, it could just be a small inflamed patch or a funny freckle...

| I hope it is just irritation. That other little red bump is gone this morning but the big one remains. It kind of looks like a scab but not really. I'm trying to remain calm...she hates me looking at it so I'm trying to ignore it, but it's hard. One of my biggest fears is her getting cancer, and I am the same way with myself and family. My mom passed away from cancer almost 4 years ago and one of my aunts is currently in palliative care after a 3.5 year battle with the same cancer as my mom. My brain always goes to cancer and it drives me insane. |

| Fiona has those as well. I just took her to the vet not this past weekend, but before it. No fleas, but he did say that she doesn't rid of bacteria easily, so i think its just skin issues, which he told me to not be concerned with. Hopefully it's the same for your baby too.

| I should have updated after her vet appointment on Thursday. The scab was gone by the time she went to the vet - of course! It was there for a couple of weeks and right when I get nervous about it, it goes away. I showed the vet the picture as well as the blue dot I posted about awhile ago. She said it looked like a reaction to a bug bite and to watch for more popping up. Or it could be that she has a sweat rash and one got irritated but since it was gone, she couldn't test her for anything. He random blue dot she feels could just be a weird blood vessel and she isnt concerned unless it gets bigger or bothers her. Sorry for not updating sooner! She ended up reacting to her vaccines and I was preoccupied with that! (She seems better now, after they gave her a shot of Benedryl on Saturday - still not happy about her kibble but wants to eat everything else...probably just being a princess about her food!) |
