| Every hour - Bright yellow diarrhea for 24 hrs Starting last night around 5:30pm Maggie started to have diarrhea (she never has before) and from then on, just about every hour she would run to the door, race outside and go again. I slept on the couch with her so I could let her out. Sweet thing, I can't believe she hasn't had an accident inside. Anyways, I called the vet and they want to see her tonight. I took a photo of it - how would I bring in a sample? Should I? Its bright yellow like mustard, and has pretty much the same consistency. I have been giving her rice and she has drank water. She is acting her self otherwise...maybe a just a bit more sleepy but its also very hot today and she obvi didn't sleep much last night. Any thoughts on the culprit?

| Poor baby. She's got something going on with her, for sure. My Tibbe didn't get IBS until he was 3 - 3 1/2 years old but he now has that problem, along with N&V, from time to time, when he forages something from the floor or outside he shouldn't have. Occasionally, he's sick from a stomach bug and needs medication for that. You have to worry about dog flu and things like that this year. If she's hot, nose dry, etc., take her temperature and call the vet if it's 103 or above and see if you need to take her to the vet ER but in the meantime, if it's just elevated above normal 101 - 102, try letting her lie on a moist towel for a while and wipe her ears, nose, tummy and paws down with cool water every 30 mins. or so. I always collect a sample of any abnormal stool for the vet & if it's runny, wipe up what there is and put the paper towel in a see-thru plastic bag, seal it and take it along so doc can possibly see the consistency, color, any presence of mucus, blood or blood cells, etc. I'm so glad you are taking her in as these little Yorkies can dehydrate awfully fast and she likely needs an antibiotic and/or at least an anti-diarrheal to help her stop the GI inflammation causing the diarrhea. Dogs usually instinctively try to mask illness/injury, pain or any sign of weakness as a defense mechanism against other animals who tend to attack or shun a less than healthy animal so even when they are in poor shape, they often behave as normally as they can mange. .

| Ok so we are back from the vet! I brought a stool sample and after some tests she is parasite free and it doesn't seem she ate anything to upset her. The vet thought that it was a bought of IBS - Maggie is a super anxious girl, stresses easily. She does not do well when I leave her (thank goodness I work from home). But this past weekend she spent the night with a dog sitter for the very first time. Vet thinks the IBS was a result of the anxiety. We came home with some canned Royal Canin for intestinal support (she usually eats their dry kibble), and three probiotics.

| Hope the diet change & supplements help her quickly. I know how worrying it is when your little one is sick.

| Good morning all! Thank you for the well wishes! Maggie took her meds last night with her dinner (a canned low fat food from the vet that she is to eat for a few days) and just like that - she's all better! She slept through the night with no potty emergencies! This morning I gave her the food again and her meds, making sure she gets water - I think we are on our way to a healthy pup! <3
