| Bobbie may have forgotten. She goes to bed early because she is up at 3:30AM .. and she has been going to the hospital every day after work. I know she has to be exhausted, but she never complains. Such a trooper!

| She really needs one. She is a very sick pup. I am still choosing to believe that she will turn around.

| Update on Piper Thursday early Morning Good Morning everyone. I'm sorry for no update last night. But, I went to bed early. Thank you Linda for updating on Piper. I really appreciate that. Well, It is 5:30am. I will not hear anything until around 8am. But, this is where we are as of last night. As Linda stated, They have been giving her Nutrical since yesterday morning, along with her Dextrose. They wanted to do a True Cut Biopsy, But she and her liver are so small it could not be done. They will slowly wean her off the Dextrose starting this afternoon. She will be completely off by tonight. If her blood sugar holds with just the Nutrical, there is still hope. And the next step would be weaning her off the feeding tube Saturday. If she does not hold her blood sugar when off the Dextrose, we will have to say goodbye to our Baby Piper Girl. But, I'm not gonna think about that today. I'm going to think of how energetic she was yesterday. I visit her everyday after work, and she is used to mommy feeding her when she gets there. I could not feed her yesterday because they need an empty stomach for the biopsy. She just kept licking my fingers wondering where her food was. She is now back to eating since the biopsy could not be done. My little girl is a fighter. The Dr. has given her a 10% chance and says 2/3 of her liver is bad. I say that's still a 10% chance and 1/3 of her liver could change this whole outcome. I will not give up until there is nothing else we can do. So thank you all for your prayers. Tony, Piper, Piccolo and myself thank you from the bottom of our Hearts. I will update as soon as I hear something this morning. Tech calls around 8, Dr. calls around 12. |

| Just an FYI, I contacted the breeder yesterday to let her know what was going on. Let me start here. When my vet thought it was a Liver Shunt, I contacted this breeder of 20 years. She says she has never heard of Liver Shunt. I told her it is a condition that more Yorkies get than any other breed. She apologizes, and states again that she does not know what this is. I told her she needs to research this. So yesterday while waiting to see my Piper Girl. I call her and let her know that is is possibly microvascular displasia, she says, I have never heard of this. I tell her that we are fighting to save her life and that we have spent alot of money doing it. She tells me she has not money. I don't want your money I tell her. I want you to know that you are possibly breeding unhealthy dogs. Then I get really mad and I think loud, I tell her 20 years of breeding Yorkies and you know nothing about this disease that Yorkies get. There were other choice words. But, we wont go there. So, if we have to let our Piper Girl go. The Dr. told me that they would want to do a biopsy on her liver, no cost. They want just as bad as us, to find out what happened to our girl. We will get the results. And if my baby has microvascular displaysia, I will be revealing this breeder. I am not going to let her get away with breeding sick dogs for money. And am not going to let her get away with selling sick babies and putting them and their owners thru what we have been thru. We got Piper Girl in January of this year. In just these few short months she has stolen our hearts. We will never be able to replace her. But, before I get another one, and believe me I will get another one. I am going to do a better research job on the breeders before I get one. I could really rant and rave more. But, just wanted to put this out there. |

| Do they still think this is something infectious? Or toxic? Was her white blood cell count elevated? I'm not sure you mentioned that earlier. MVD usually doesn't cause acute liver failure and many dogs live long lives with it. Not that breeders should breed dogs to have it and your breeder should be aware of MVD/shunts if she is breeding at all. So whether this dog has MVD or not, your breeder and her lack of familiarity with MVD/shunts in this breed tells me all I need to know about her. But, it would be very unusual for MVD to cause this as the vet earlier told Linda. I'm sorry to read this terrible news about Piper. I hope that a miracle happens. I know I would have a hard time with all of this. You must be tired, try to take some care of you.

| Poor sweet lil Piper, she has such spirit and a lil fighter, my heart is torn for that lil innocent baby, and for the stress you and DH are going through. I pray she pulls through, and yes, the breeder of yorkies for 20 years should be knowledgeable about ALL yorkie diseases. I can't even bring myself to write this, but if it comes to loosing your lil girl at such a young age, a biopsy is a must, and breeder called out for selling sick babies. You will be in my thoughts until your next post. Piper will be in my heart and prayers today. (((hugs)))

| Poor Piper I look at the thread daily and Linda's FB post to just become more sad not to see any improvements. Are the vets offering any new hope at all? I thought that is she wasn't significantly better by Wednesday the vets were telling last week a decision needed to be made. This would be devastating if I were faced with so much unknown for all this time. I'm so sorry
