I cant go into details right now, we had to rush a new pup to the vets about a half hour ago due to a possible neck injury.

Thank you. He is there over night. The vet is treating as if its a soft tissue injury. He is giving him morphine for dogs and an anti inflammatory. Worse case scenario is a head injury.
His name is cooper he is an 8 week old cocker spaniel mix that we just got a few days ago due to his living conditions.
He was attack tonight by my in laws 70 pound black lab, we do believe during the tangle between the two the lab stepped on Coopers neck. I was not there so Im only getting details from my hubby and kids. His eyes are dilating and reacting ok, his heart is fine as well as his ears, he is walking and wagging his tail briefly before he would tip his head as if he was having a spasm and scream loudly.. breaking my heart.
My kids are so worried. My son hasn't stopped crying.
Please keep the prayers coming...

Thank you all! Cooper is home and doing well.
He has 4 punture wounds on his face around his mouth/jaw that were not seen by us last night. The vet feels that during the attack, the lab grabbed Cooper's face and injured his Jaw. He is on an antibiotic, soft foods, and rest. He was barking loudly when we went to pick him up and had eaten for them without issue.
I havent seen my son smile so big in awhile as when we walked in the door with his pup. .. Now its naptime for mom as I got no sleep last night!

This was an accident. The lab was in the house when they brought Cooper down. My family was sitting around a campfire with Cooper on their laps with a harness and leash on, the lab was let out of the house with out notice and bolted towards Cooper, it happened in seconds . Cooper was so tangled up and scared that my husband had to cut his harness off before he injured himself more. It was a scary situation for all parties involved.
This is just another reminder of how quickly another dog can attack.
We will no longer be taken any of our dogs there.

Yes, but only when provoked and no damage was done.
There are always other dogs around as its a dog friendly house but all the other dogs are all big breed dogs. its been awhile since weve taken our dogs down there because all of my dogs are under 20 pounds and the bigger dogs play rough. My 10 year old son wanted to show him off as Cooper was a gift.
They all felt bad and even gave us half of the vet bill which we didn't ask for.

Cooper is doing ok, no more yelping thank god. he still tweaks his head to the side when he tries and picks up a toy. He has been sleeping alot and resting in between potty breaks and some lovin.
Its amazing how the wiggle their way into your heart so quickly.

Glad to hear he's OK! Poor little guy! Thankfully they're such fast healers!
