| Sad Reminder To Hold On To Your Little Ones This is from another Yorkie Forum and is so sad but it is a reminder to be so very careful with our little ones and always make sure you have a good hold on them. I haven't been on here in a while. We moved and have just been terribly busy. Chloe was growing and she was doing much better with the house training. She would have been 6 months old next week. Two days ago I had her in my arms and was carrying her to her crate and she jumped. I couldn't catch her and she landed on the ceramic tile. She broke both front legs. Both bones in both legs all the way through. I spent HOURS at the vet and they said she'd never walk again. They couldn't fix her. We had to put her to sleep. I can't stand it. I can't stop crying. We had a funeral for her yesterday. We made her a beautiful little grave. The night she died, I thought it would help to see her. I got her out of the box and held her and petted her for a long time. I got a lock of her hair and laid her on her favorite blanket. I buried her with her favorite little toys. My heart is breaking. Does this ever get any better?

| I am so sorry to hear about your baby. I know what you mean, they sometimes can jump out of your arms quickly. It happened to me when I was carrying Kiki down the stairs. I had quick hands that day and caught him in just enough time. We will be praying for you!

| Too bad it was her two front legs. My parents dashund (cody) had his two back legs paralyzed. He was an inbred dog and my parents didn't know that until they went to the vet and asked what could of happend. He had a little wheelchair we walked him in when we went for walks and for a little while he hopped aorund like a bunny. He died shortly after of old age....but he was such a sweet dog and didn't let his handicap get in the way of his happiness and life. My heart goes out to this lady...how terrible.

| OMG I am crying my eyes out. I can completely sympathize with your friend (since I lost my precious princess, Katie, over 1 month ago). Please give your friend my deepest sympathies and my prayers are with her. My heart is just breaking for her right now.

| OMG! I can't even imagine what pain this person is going through. Zeus really is my best friend, next to my husband, and I can't imagine what it would be like without him. My heart goes out to all of those who have experienced this and I just have to say that I admire your strength. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

| How absolutely terrible. And, accidents like this happen so quickly. It could have happened to me. When I first had my pup - somehow he got his hind feet against my chest and literally flew out of my arms onto the kitchen floor (4 or 5 feet down). It was a miracle that he wasn't hurt....a real miracle! When I read your post about what happened to another little puppy, I was just sick. I know how that could have happen. It happened to me. These little dogs are so cute and darling and wonderful --but because they are so small that the world is such a dangerous place. It was just a very unfortunate accident, and haven't we read about a lot of these - with these sweet little dogs. It could have happened to any one of us. We can't be too careful - Carol Jean Last edited by SnowWa; 12-31-2005 at 04:17 PM. |
