| ![]() Yesterday we went to the park and I could not stop Pixie from eating grass. every time I looked at her she was grazing. Anyways all of a sudden she started hacking and reverse sneezing and I thought that maybe she had eaten a bee. WE rushed her home and gave her benadryl and she seemed to have gotten better after 30 min. Today she still like snorts as if she has something stuck in her nose after she barks and when she eats. Does anyone know what this could be? She has an appointment tom. at 9:30 I am just worried sick. Of course I have been a google queen and I saw: kennel cough Colapsed trachea bronchial infection soft palate irritation My biggest fear is collapsed trachea ![]() I am praying it is not that. I also did notice her eyes were more runny today. I also gave her a bath after the park in case it was allergies.

| ![]() Poor Pixie girl. You would have noticed signs of collapsed trachea coming on. Sounds like she either has a piece of grass stuck where it shouldn't be, or she has an irritation in her mouth/throat/nose. I'm glad you are seeing the vet tomorrow. Praying it will be a small thing.

| ![]() That sounds similar to what Max went through once. It was after having a chew, and we thought he was choking because he started coughing and retching out of nowhere. Rushed him to the ER and they said he had a bad throat irritation. We followed up with our regular vet the next morning to confirm. I pray that is all Pixie has.

| ![]() OMG if things couldn't get any worse. My Grandson was eating one of those m&m ice cream sandwiches and he said Mana Pixie got an m&m ![]() Now she is throwing up...she threw up her whole dinner and there was a lot of mucus in it. It was so flemy it was like snots....(sorry for the description). I called the emergency vet and they said that if she continues to throw up bring her in. She is sleeping now. I am so worried ![]()

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Bless your heart and Pixie's! I'm praying nothing is terribly wrong. Maybe throwing up was the best thing to get all of that yucky mucous out of her. I know, without saying, that you will take her to the ER at the first sign of trouble. Please keep us updated!! HUGS

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I hope little Pixie will be all right. It is scary when our Yorkies eat stuff they shouldn't. I worry about dogs going to the dog parks. I bet they pick up sickness and can eat who knows what. I would not go there and take a chance. Yorkies will put all kinds of things in their mouth and you never know what people throw away on the ground there. |

| ![]() Oh no!! I pray Pixie vomited the chocolate and that she is doing better now so that you won't have to spend the night at the ER. ![]()

| ![]() From my own experience... my pup was running through some tallish grass... came home and for a week was sneezing so hard he almost knocked himself out by his head hitting the floor. And then I would see a puddle of thin mucous and saliva wherever he was sneezing at. We went to the vet 3-4 times (he quit charging me for the appt). After the last appointment, we went home and I looked up his nose with a flashlight after one particularly bad episode (he would not sneeze at the vet's), I saw something green! I grabbed a pair of tweezers and gently removed a 6 inch long piece of grass. His body was making mucous to try to coat the grass so it wouldn't hurt any tissues in his nose and throat, along with a slight allergic reaction. Once the grass was gone he was one happy pup! Your situation sounded all too familiar. I hope she recovers quickly and it's something simple.

| ![]() The things you are worried about such as CT...highly doubtful. My guess is that she either got something up her nose (if she keeps sneezing a vet needs to look up her nose) or she was allergic to some grass. I always worry about foxtails. They can be very nasty: Foxtails: Why They're Dangerous for Dogs

| ![]() Thank you everyone, Pixie is doing well today! we just got back from the Vets and after some blood work, everything was normal. She looked up her nose and in her ears and down her throat. Her throat was very irritated but she felt that the grass irritated her throat, and the vomiting. Pixie threw up about 3 times last night and after the third time there was a lot of flem. She stopped reverse sneezing! Weird Maybe she had grass stuck in her throat. Final diagnosis at the vets: Pixie has allergies and when she goes outdoors to play I am to give her 3ml of childrens liquid Benadryl. NO GRASS EATING!! lol I try to stop her she is like a grazing cow ![]() She is on a bland diet for 7 days to give her system a break. Thank you every one for your prayers.
