| Lethargic and Scratching Ear My baby woke up this morning just not herself. She was lethargic and sounded like she was dry heaving. Brought her outside to do her business - she pooped and then threw up. Qucikly came back inside and she went right to her bowl and chowed. It's now been about 4 hours later and she's eating, but still slightly lethargic. I have noticed she is scratching her right ear. Would an ear infection cause this type of reaction? Zoey Jane is my first baby - so I'm not really certain of the symptoms or personality change an ear infection would result in. She is such a sweet little thing...and seeing her like this just breaks my heart. Any suggestions?

| Do her ears have an odor? Usually with ears they smell if infected. She could be teething which my vet said they will scratch their ears at times when doing that. Something to do with a nerve that runs through the jaw to the ear. Hope she is feeling better soon.

| So I wanted to provide everyone with an update. Before I get into what the problem is/was....I'll need to go back toSaturday when my baby woke up yucky. What I neglected to mention was that shehad a small little scab on the left side of her neck, I noticed this Saturdayafternoon. (I didn't mention this in my original post because I didn't thinkthere was a link) The scab was very small in size, so I picked it and it beganto bleed (that'll teach me). By Sunday the scab was becoming slightly swollenand hard. This morning my poor baby didn’t feel well again. As I was holdingand cuddling her I noticed she had 2 more little scabs behind her ear. Historywould tell me not to pick it. I got her to a vet. Well, when the vet saw Zoey shewasn't sure what to think...tried to rule out any kind of bite(s). So she takesZoey out of the room to do a full inspection and comes back within minutes totell me she has a parasite. The parasite is called Cuterebriasis. The parasitehangs outside of rabbit burrows and was contracted through Zoey's nose, mouthor anus... any orifice. The vet was able to get the one out by her neck. Thevet said that she was unable to find anything in the other 2 smaller 'scabs'behind her ear....but to keep an eye on them since it may turn out that thereare more, but she didn’t see anything. Naturally, the vet had to shave her inthe affected areas....poor baby she looks like a hot mess. The vet told me toput some Neosporin on it so it can heal. She did not feel any antibiotics were necessary. All of thismade total sense to me since she has been chasing a small baby bunny out of hislittle hole for the past 2 weeks. This is around the same area where she does 1and 2... Our yard is small, so I have no idea what to do...I'm going to have tolook into some type of insecticide. But for now she's going to have to do herbusiness on the deck area...ugh! Really hoping that the 2 other scabs don’tturn into anything bigger.
