| I need help!!!! Ok, It's been a while since I've been on YT...(My BF broke our laptop 2nd time!!! 2 different computers!!!-long story) Anyway, I just got my new computer and I'm so glad that I have access to YT now! It's a long story, but to make it short. My BF found a yorkie boy who was abandoned by vet's office who needs surgery for liver stent asap. I'm trying to find a vet(tri state area) who can work me on surgery cost $$$ or someone who's willing to take him as his or her forever baby and provide him with urgent help that he needs so badly. Any help or advise regarding good vet will be greatly appreciate. thank you all!!!!

YT 1000 Club Member | Only yesterday I came across an article regarding an Animal Specialty Hospital (24/7) in Manhattan. They are specialized to handle small breed dogs. Not sure how willing they will be to "work with you" but here is a link to their website Veterinary Specialty Hospital & Board Certified Vet Specialists in New York, NY | Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists

| I would look into a Yorkie Rescue group. They may be able to take in the pup or even give you information on the best place to take him for surgery.

by the way, the vet who's looking after this poor baby is asking around $1300 for surgery, is it normal price?

| You should contact Yorkies Inc. If they couldn't come get him, perhaps you could get him there. They are an excellent rescue group. Available Yorkies

| Dr.Tobias USED to take these babies for research on liver shunts...this was back in the '80s......she did the surgery, then I think placed the dogs in foster care and tracked them for continued lab work, etc....for the life of the baby...they are loved and cared for and get the surgery they so desperately need...I dont know if they still do this...if they do, this would be a perfect candidate, as the owner used to have to sign the baby over to the team....this baby is looking for a foster home anyway, so this would be great fr him if the team still does this.... |
