| McheleM has little Noah who survived Parvo. I found some of her posts for you. Maybe it will help. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...y-so-long.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...754-parvo.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...oah-parvo.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...date-noah.html I know that Noah is doing great now. He is my Mikki's date to the next Yorkietalk Valentines Day ball. Michele has a lot of battles she is overcoming right now. However, I know that she would be willing to answer questions once she is able. Hope your baby gets better. Sending prayers for your Mia.

| Also found this by Michele on another thread. Feel free to message me if you want. We have parvo experience. Please please please make sure he is treated with antibiotics. And continous IV fluids. If you vet will, add a probiotic to his food. Buy baby food in a jar, beechnut chicken and see if he will eat it. We got Noah at 8 weeks and he got parvo 3 weeks later. He weighed 1.6 lbs!! He never showed any signs or symptoms, we happened to be at the vet for other stuff and he had a reaction to his vaccines. We ended up spending 11 days at the vet, 7500 dollars in vet bills, 5 different antibiotics, a blood transfusion, etc all to save our pup. Parvovirus eats through the lining of their intestines and he will be very prone to secondary infections... Make sure the vet is watching him carefully for signs (fever especially). Bleach your walls, you floors and anything he has come in contact with. Wash any bedding on a hot cycle with bleach. Bleach is the only tning that kills it. The virus can live in your soil for up to 10 years, and is often rampant after a rain (the water brings it to the surface). People can bring it in on their hands, clothes and shoes. Limit who comes in your home, and make sure they wash their hands, buy some odo-ban (or similar) from your vet and make them spray themselves before coming in, and leave their shoes outside the door. If you have other pets, make sure they are vaccinated.

| PrincessDiana had a pup named Frankin that had it as well. Here is her post. Franklin had parvo a couple weeks after I got him too. He survived and is alive and healthy 3 years later. Here are the original threads from way back then: So... we have parvo. Update On Franklin I don't know how much longer I can take! YAYYY.... sort of. Guess who's home?! Good luck and I'm sure your baby will be home soon! Hope I am not bombarding you. Just hoping that one of these members can help you.

| I am very sorry your puppy has parvo, she is in good hands though being taken care of at the vet. Does the vet have 24 hour care? If not some will transport very ill dogs to 24hr ER vet hospitals so they are fully monitered 24/7 . As others have said it is vital to rid the virus in our home 100% bleach is the only way I know that kills the virus. I also have heard after the pup survives parvo her immune system is weakend. I will pray for Mia, please keep us updated on how she is doing.

The vet hospital and the human hospital where I worked both used a 5% solution of bleach and water in a spray bottle. If used in a bucket, the solution needs to be refreshed frequently as contamination from dirt and germs weakens it. Bleach is harmless when dry. No rinsing is necessary.
