| Help!? retained puppy teeth?!? Hello, I think my 6 month old puppy might have retained baby teeth, He has two sets of K9's. He eats, plays, and chews like normal. But I'm worried about how it will effect him in the long run. Should I wait to take him to a vet? And Does anyone know how expensive it would be to have them removed? Not that it really matters..Hes my baby and Ill do whatever to make sure hes happy and healthy!

| Have you had him neutered yet? Most people have them removed when they are spayed/neutered. It is very common. The cost depends on the area you live in. If you have it done when he is neutered they usually just charge $10 or $20 more. If you have to have him put under again it's really depends but I think the last time I called it was about $300.... |

| Thank you! I just called my local vet, and they told me it would be 90$ if i just get the teeth done, But might as well get it all done at one time.

| Ziva had 7 removed Abby just the top 2 canines, when they were spayed. Couldn't even tell by the next day the gums had tightened up around the correct teeth. Ziva was actually more comfortable after the teeth were pulled. Vet charged $3 per tooth! |

| Toki's canines didn't start erupting until literally the day after she got spayed (*sigh*)! I know they normally remove these teeth when your pup is already under for the spay/neuter so I just had to hope that they would fall out on their own. She had 2 sets of canines for the longest time (that's what it felt like to me!). Around 7 months her bottom baby canines finally fell out but she is almost 9 months now and still has 2 sets on top. My vet said that as long as I kept these teeth clean and the area didn't look inflamed, it would be fine just leaving them in until her first dental cleaning. I'm not sure about price and I know that varies a lot but the vet said it wasn't worth putting my pup under again just for taking out baby teeth if things weren't inflamed or her bite wasn't offset. Have your vet take a look just to be sure there won't be any problems! My guess is that He/She will probably just wait to take them out whenever your pup gets neutered! |
