| Our yorkie's eye is swollen Our Yorkie Kristy is 2 1/2. She is full of fun. This morning her left eye seemed a bit swollen and she seemed to be pawing at it. I noticed a little bit of a bump above the eye like maybe a stye or something. I just don't know if it's something I should be nervous of and take her to the Vet right away? Advice? Thanks from a newbie to the site! Kathleen |

| With eye issues, I never wait...if it is during the night or on a weekend, I go to the EC. Those things can get bad quickly! OP, IF this is just a bump on the eyelid, you might be alright until tomorrow...BUT if her eye itself is irritated, I would not wait.

| Thanks all for the replies. She seems better but still a bit swollen so I'm going in the AM. She's still pawing at it so I know she's not herself! Will keep you all posted. |

| Our Aussie got stung by the eye by a bee or wasp the other week. We didn't see it happen but the way they chase those things, it's bound to happen occasionally. I gave her a dose of Benadryl and it got better pretty quickly. She did look sad though that day.
