Babies early Please help my girl was due Dec. 9th we came home from church today and she had already had the babies one was still barely living. It did not last long. Now she is wanting us to pet her every min. We have a stephoscope and my hubby who is emt listented to her and hears to heart beats still. Is it possible that she did not have all of the babies and that she could carry these to term. Not sure if I should take her to emergency vet tonight or take her to regular vet in the am.

pups You should take her to the ER vet for an xray. If there are no pups left, she will need a shot to make sure she is cleaned out of after births, etc. You want the vet to take a look at her discharge adn make sure there is not infection, temp needs taking also. It is possible she has a pup or more left..these are not situations to wait until morning..good luck Last edited by YorkieRose; 11-27-2005 at 05:12 PM.

Oh please let us know how things are going! How very sad...we have our fingers crossed that there is perhaps another healthy puppy in there and that Mommy is ok.

Mom is fine now She still had one more baby that didn't make it in her. Been a hard few days but she is doing much better now. She still cry's and wants us to look for her babies. So we got up all last night and let her look in closets and in her box and the laundry room and any where else she wants to look. We keep telling her she is a good girl and petting her to reassure her she did nothing wrong. The vet thinks she had overcrowding problem and that one didn't get enough of what it needed so after it died it caused her to have the rest of them early. She did get up this am and wanted to eat finally so maybe we have turned the corner on this with her. She has been up 2 hours now and we haven't looked for her babies yet which is longest she has gone since Sunday. Thank You so much for your help. I found this site when I was deseparate but glad I found it will visit it more often and read all the info. Thank You again all.

thank You for your prayers and concerns She is not looking for the babies every min now but barks this different type of bark like a sharp sound. She does this until we go into our room and let her look around then she wants one of us to lay in the bed and rub her tummy. This is on going now someone is in bed with her a lot rubbing her tummy. Hubby think because she swelled ready to feed the babies even thought they were earlier enough the milk didn't come in that maybe she is a little tender and wants us to rub her to releave the discomfort. I am not quiet sure. She still looks in the closet when we go by the door because it is laundry closet that we put the bedding in right after she had the babies. Hummmmmmmmm was bad idea I think more reason to spoil her. She is making more and more attempt to be her regular self so I think a few more dayd os babying her willhelp a lot.
