| Confused ? Allergies / infection need advice!! Hello yorkie talkers On Friday night I adopted a yorkie named emma. About a year ago she was found on the streets no one claimed her so my friend kept her, she looks as if she was a breeding dog ( very big nipps) any who my friend recently had a baby and can't keep her, so I decided to take her in to keep my 1 yr old yorkie company . When I had her she seemed very uncomfortable, scratchy every where.I gave her a bath noticed one flea and many scabs on her butt. I took her to the vet yesterday he shaved her butt and said she had infected scabs ( they are not pussing nor open) also he said her vulva looked infected also . He put her on simplecef 100 mg 1/4 th of a tab once. Day. Also I put her on frontline and she did lick some of it !! I also gave her .5 cc of baby benadryl for her itchyness. I came home today to one very puffy eye!!!!! I called the vet before they closed and they're trying to charge me again to see her plus some! I can't afford so much in two days !!! I need advice has any one expirienced reactions to that antibiotic or benadryl or front line ?? It doesn't hurt her but I'm concerned should I continue with antibiotic ? Thanks for reading this

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | One puffy eye? Is she scratching it...is it red around the lid? Dogs w/ allergies will often scratch their eyes, break a tiny amount of skin (may not be able to see it), and the area is easily infected. You do need to go back to the vet since it's the eye...I know the $$ part is tough. Simplicef is a great med for skin issues! Often, they'll take it for a full month. Hopefully, all of this skin stuff is just from fleas - and not from a pollen/enviro allergies...those are a pain!!

| Yes one eye was VERY puffy if actually went down dramatically after i posted!!! I dont think she could have injured it the Vet gave me a e collar for her to wear to not get to get behind to keep from injuring her self again. This morning i noticed the other one slightly puffy , i did not give her her antibiotic this morning since im thinking maybe thats it ( im still confused maybe it can be food or the frontline she kind of licked?) I also gave her benadryl yesterday but im scared that could be it too. Im going to call a diff vet today to see if i can get better prices the other vet charges us to breath!
