My baby is sick Missy, my 5 year old started acting weird yesterday, she was restless and wouldn't go to bed. She kept biting at her paw...I inspected her paws, they are fine, I have no idea what is wrong with her...so I stay up with her while she is awake. Then next day, she had started vomiting, she did this 3 times yesterday...then I got up to clean and found a pile of mucus with blood in it!!! There was no feces with it. I freaked out and called the vet and he said she sounds as if she strained herself, to watch her.....well, today when she poo'ed, it was wet and semi solid...but she has attempted to vomit 3 times today so far. Once was productive and the other two were dry heaves. She did drink a bit this morning, but won't eat and she has been sleeping today. (that is not unusual for her) but I can tell she doesn't feel well. I am pretty scared for her. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, her gums are pink...and I just gave her some yogurt..I had to put it into her mouth so she would try it...then she started licking it on her own...I'm worried though...any thoughts??

I would bring her to the vet and have them check her. You don't want her to get dehydrated. I hope she is feeling better soon!

I appreciate you writing about it, SM. She seemed pretty lethargic until dh walked in the door, then she started barking for food! So I gave her a little bit of rice and boiled chicken and she ate it up. I also gave her some yogurt..dh picked some up at the store. Now she is barking at me to feed her more, butI think that should do...she needs to drink water. I am glad she is acting like her old self. She scared me!!! We will see in a few how her tummy reacts to the food. Thanks for being there... Mary

My Leila was throwing up constantly once and finally ended up with bloody diarrhea and blood stained mucus throw up. We rushed her to the emergency vet, only to have them tell me to not feed her for 24 hours, to give her stomach time to heal (they also said it was because she strained) and the bloody diarrhea is normal after it. We gave her ice cubes made with pedialite to ensure that she was taking in fluids during that time. She was fine the next day..Hope all is well with yours now

YES they indeed DO!! I just love her so much. She is such a small baby, I think that is what scares me the most. I never want to lose her. She is fine with that now. The only thing is she keeps licking on her feet. She may have an allergy...I need to look that up now. She is keeping me on my toes!
