| Spay surgery and blood in urine Yesterday Princess had her say surgery. We brought her home today. Tonight I notice blood in her urine. Of course this worries me. Our vet is closed so I call the emergency vet. I was told to keep a close watch over her. If she shows other symptoms get her there ASAP. Otherwise call our vet in the morning. She now sleeping. I moved her up to my bedroom for tonight. She ate and has been drinking water. Surgical site looks good. Doing everything as instructed. Surgery was done by laser since we were led to believe this would be with less complications and "easier" recovery. My other pup was neutered yesterday and he is not showing any symptoms to give me any concerns. Has anyone else had their girl pups show these same symptoms after say surgery? |

| One of my girls had the laser spay. She did not have blood in her urine. Recovery as far the procedure was quicker than the other method. I don't know, if it was me I would take her to the e-vet if she still shows blood in her urine, or at least call them again and ask exactly what other symptoms should she show for you to bring her in? Did they say what to watch for and what could be a cause for concern?

| The Emergency Vet did get me instructions of other symptoms to look for. And so far Princess has not shown any other symptoms. She is eating, drinking, going potty, has energy, etc. I will be calling our vet this morning when they open at 10 AM. I noticed when Princess went pee this morning, there is still slight blood in the urine. But not much. With what I was told last night, she may have a UTI which I researched and found is not uncommon after a spay surgery. I will keep everyone updated. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | The pom puppy I fostered last year came down with a bad UTI after her spay. The meds cleared it up pretty quickly.

| Princess is fine today. Just wanted to update. Sad news yesterday. My 96 year old Grandmother passed away. Traveled to my parents 2 hours away yesterday and on my way (9 hours away) to be with family for a few days. And taking Princess along with me. I called to ask vet what to do and was told exactly what I already planned to do. Other choice was to hospitalize her while I am away. Best choice I was told was to keep her with me. |
