| need tooth pain remedy asap Hi, Our 10 year old Moose is loosing teeth. He is acting in pain today and one tooth is half out. What are some safe doses of over the counter meds to give to help him get relief from the pain of it??

| Take him to the vet and have the vet prescribe meds. At his age abcess is a great possibility, along with infection that could end up affecting his heart. So, he may need antibiotics too.

| I would still call your vet and ask what they would suggest and dose that you give him even if it was OTC pain meds. As was previously mentioned I would be worried about infections. Dogs do not get cavities like people do.

| Getting him to the vet asap is best in this situation. You do not want to give aspirin with any tooth problems, bc of the possibility of bleeding, and aspirin would make that a life threatening condition. Also dogs can become septic with rotting teeth, as the bacteria can easily travel to the bloodstream and from there throughout the body, and this can also be life threatening.
