| Question about probiotics? Just wondering since Tucker has been diagnosed wiht Helicobactor Pyloris he is on two kinds of antiobiotics. Someone told me today that maybe I should put him on some sort of probiotics so it will balance. Is this maybe something that should be done later on after we have tried to kill all the bad bacteria or give something to him now before all of the good bacteria is gone too? If so what would be something good that won't upset him even more? |

| With probiotics they are given at different times of the day than you give antibotics, and then they are also continued several weeks after antibiotics run out. Not sure of a good one to try for your dog's diagnosis though.

| I personally would speak with my vet about it.

| I am personally all for probiotics, but I would speak with your vet. If your vet isn't a holistic vet (I'm assuming not), I would see if you can find one locally you could call in regards to what type and how much to give.

| Sophie had diarrhea when she was on antibiotics last year. My vet gave her probiotics to help. Lots of doctors are ordering probiotics for human patients when they are on antibiotics.

| The specialist I took my IBD dog to put her on Culturelle. The vet that diagnosed Tucker was an internist, wasn't he? I'd ask him. When do you go back for a follow up?
