| Lea's not feeling well, I hope someone can help? I took Lea to the vet and I'm just beside myself. She has been vomiting since Saturday so I took her to the vet and they said she may have a stomach bug and it will pass. She has an appetite, drinks water, and has a cool wet nose however this evening she seems to be getting warm. After she eats it's aparent she has a tummy ache as her little legs tremble while she's resting. My heart is breaking for her. I made here ground sirlion and rice and that didn't sit well. Any suggestions

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear Lea's not feeling well. Did your vet give her any medicine? Usually my vet will give me something to settle their tummies and a liquid to coat their tummies. If she isn't better by tomorrow I would either call your vet or get a second opinion. Hope she feels better soon.

| How many times is she vomiting a day? Any diarrhea? Are her gums pink and moist? The sirloin can be replaced with boneless skinless chicken breast with Yorkies seem to do better with. I'm a bit concerned that the vet didn't give any antiemetics for the vomiting. Yorkies dehydrate so quickly... If it continues, a second opinion is definitely needed.

| Zoe had an episode like that a few months ago. My vet gave her sub q fluids, anti naseau meds and he used accupuncture with her and it worked within hours. Maybe you should get a second opinion? Poor baby! Sorry she is feeling so poorly. |

| Thank you for the reply.....she has been vomiting 5-7 times a day. Last night she vomited all night, mostly foamy water. She is drinking alot which is good and she will eat anything I feed her it just won't stay down. Her gums are pinkish. I was a little disallusioned when I left the office with a bill and no meds or advice. This was my first visit to a new vet with Lea and I don't think they are a good fit for us. I will bring her to my original vet. I recently moved and really did my homework to find a good vet but I'm just not satisfied. My heart just breaks to see her lethargic and trembling, she must have an awful tummy ache Thanks so much~wendy

| Vomiting that much for this many days is "extremely" dangerous. She almost certainly has to be dehydrated right now. With that much vomiting, it could even be pancreatitis. Your girl needs fluids (subq at the least, but maybe IV) immediately (imo). When my girl vomits just eight or so times, it is a big concern. I would take her to the ER. If you decide against it, she has to see a vet first thing in the morining. If her gums are anything but a good pink color, she could be in trouble. If they are no moist, she could be in trouble. I'm very sorry this vet didn't take the problem seriously. I would hope she is holding water down, but if not, it is all the more concerning. For a comparison, my girl had a bunch of diarrhea a couple weeks ago. It had only been about 1/2 day and her gums seemed a bit sticky. I had to give her subq fluids just to be safe...and then was one day.

| poor baby. sometimes it's just a simple tummy ache but she is vomiting a lot. also she's not acting right so there must be something they can treat. if she has an appetite and it won't stay down the first thing they should do is an x-ray to make sure there's no blockage. is she having any diarrhea?

You're welcome. Good idea. At the least, they can give her something to stop the vomiting. It's just not worth it to wait.

| Checking up on her. That is way too much vommiting for a little dog for your vet to have done nothing. I was actually shocked when I read that. I sure hope she is ok. Please update as soon as you can.

| I am so glad you are taking her in! She surely should have been given something for nausea and tummy problems when you took her to that vet. Get well wishes to your little one!

| We arrived home at 2am from the ER and Lea is doing well. She had an x-ray and was given fluids and meds. She ate about 2 table spoons of boiled chicken and rice and so far no vomiting and she barked softly which was music to my ears. I'm going to stay home with her today and make sure she eats and drinks. Little girl needs to put on the 6oz she lost. This was our first visit to this ER and I felt very comfortable, they are so focused on little details. Thank you everyone for your replies! I think it's going to be a good day~wendy
