| coccidia???? in my new baby? Jukka has been home for 5 days with me and acts like a normal puppy..until today..he really hasnt had much of an appetite however he acts fine jumping running playing licking, etc.....well i was at a friends house and he was outside and he went poopy....well the first poopy was normal but then this yellowish mucus slimy stuff came out.....so i immediately came home and googled such a thing...well when i put it into google someone posted about something similar and it was called coccidia???? so then i research it and it seems like what it is...it says stress from new enivroment its a parasite and that he probably got it from his mothers feces. im taking him to the vet in the morning i guess its a rather mild thing but for my new baby im sooo scared..... Please tell me what you guys think?? and has this ever happened to anyone else? ***also per his puppy shot records he just had a fecal done on 2/8/10 and everything was fine Thanks

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It is pretty common and the vet can easily treat it. My Cali had it when I got her and after the Albon she was fine. Definitley take a poop sample to your vet tomorrow and they will be able to tell you pretty quickly what it is. Try not to worry!

| No it's not uncommon. It happens a lot especially with new puppies that go thru the stress of going to new homes - stress seems to bring it on. It is not always found in a fecal either.... As long as your baby gets treated, they should be fine. |
