| ![]() My girl is due in two weeks. She is constantly itching and biting her backend and its so hard for her to reach because of her big tummy. I have looked over and over and found no fleas. I have used flea shampoo, Soaked her in an oatmeal bath, rubbed baby oil on her skin and lastly, used human dandruff shampoo and she is still itching. She quit eating her gravy train dry when she became pregnant and i was worried so i have been giving her gravy train canned and she will eat that but not very much, maybe a cup a day. I do not know what else to do. Her vet just said to be careful of what i put on her and he suggested baby powder and that didnt work. Has anyone had this problem and found something that has helped. Please let me know. We cant stand to see her itchy so much. |

| ![]() I'm sorry that your little girl is going thru this. Has your little one always itched or has it been since she's been pregnant? Can you add some salmon oil to her food? This may also entice her to eat. There are a lot of opinions on different foods and I am sure that there are much better foods to give than Gravy Train. It could be an allergy to the food or it could be environmental that is why I asked if the itching has started since she has been pregnant or all along? I am not sure I would use human dandruff shampoo on her as human shampoos are not the right products for dogs skin. Is your vet versed in care for small dogs? I never heard of putting baby powder on a dog. (??) I would probably try and get a 2nd opinion from a vet who knows about small dogs, especially with your little about to give birth. That would be good place to start. Good luck.

| ![]() No this itching just started since she has been pregnant. Not sure about vet but he is an older guy and been a vet in our area for 20 some years. Maybe i will try the pedigree puppy food that i had gotten for her and where would i get salmon oil? I can try that and my girl, Roxy, might love it. |

| ![]() I would try a "grain free" food for her. I hope that you can find a vet with some good advice. |

| ![]() The itchiness may be due to her pregnancy ....the skin is being stretched as the pregnancy progresses.I give my girls a coconut oil massage followed by a warm bath 2x a week.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() My girl is doing this and she has about 2 weeks left. I also checked her for fleas and found nothing. I started coating her with coconut oil and letting it soak in for a couple hours then give her a bath with a good conditioner. I have also just rubbed the oil all over her belly and it helps some.
