| Liver shunt =( One of our fur babies has been diagnosed with a liver shunt. She spent the whole day at the vets Wednesday getting more tests and an ultrasound done to confirm it. Luckily it is operable. We are keeping her stable on meds until we can pay for the surgery and was lively and happy for 2 days but yesterday and today she has gone down hill again. She is on 3 different meds but right now is not holding food or meds down so we cannot control the toxins. Our Destiny is only 13 months old and 3 1/2 lbs. Please keep us in your prayers. |

| What is she eating for food? It could be making her sick if it is not low protein.

| The vet has her on Hepato Support capsules, Lactulose, Metronidazole for meds and Royal Canin Hepatic LS which is low protein. |

| It sounds like your vet put her on all the right things (although SAMe should be added when she can hold things down again). So she isn't holding liquids down at all? If it continues, she will probably need an IV.

| She drank some water a bit ago and we soften the dry food with water and she is eating a little of that right now. Our main concern is to not let her have another seizure because then it would make the surgery very very dangerous to do. |

| Just gave her a syringe of food and her hepato support early along with some more lactulose and the shaking has subsided and she is going to sleep again. Her vet is closed and it will be nearly impossible to drive an hr to the emergency vet in 2+ inches of heavy snow. We are in the middle of the east coast storm. She seems to be doing better. |
