| Help Emergency!!! Hi my Sophie was fine....running and playing with the cat and then all of a sudden it seemed like she was chewing on something....but she just kept doing it and rubbing her head on the ground. I thought she was choking on food so we picked her up and checked. We didnt see anything and she is breathing fine... but keeps opening and closing her mouth and it is making a crunching sound Now the crunching noise has stopped but she is licking her lips and opening and closing.... She is not in any pain at all... I have no idea what it is....I sent her and the hubby to the vet Does anyone have any idea what it could be???

| Lola did this when she was losing baby teeth left and right. Toby also acts very similar when he gets a piece of kibble or chew stuck in the side of his mouth. Hope your baby is ok.

| That is exactly what Tenci did when she had a loose tooth, then swallowed it. Hopefully your baby is okay too

| Thank you everyone for your responses and for your concern. The emergency vet is about 30 minutes away and on the car ride there Sophie stopped the weird behavior and was fine again. He turned around and brought her home and she is back to normal. It must have been a loose tooth that she finally swallowed or something. OMG I was sooo scared she had a broken jaw or something but she wasnt in pain even when I opened her mouth to look in. I dont know but thank you for your responses

| Glad to hear your girl is OK. She may have swallowed it or she might have spit it out in the car. I have stepped on quite a few of those sharp little lost teeth while barefooted...OUCH ! |
