![]() Jerry took off on his pee break, there is three dogs here and we missed him for a bit at 4pm, and then we looked high and low for him. The think is we live on the ocean in the country side and other than a couple of houses, there is nothing but forest around ! and the weather says it will be -8 C tonight ! We are so freaked out ! How could he ever survive that kind of temp, its 10:00 pm now and we have been looking all night ! We wonder if anyone knows if he could find some way to curl up and be ok for a night ? Its the coldest night this year thought, it scary. Anyways, please pray for Jerry if you could. The sad part is we hear for sure a bark at about 7:30, we searched that spot high and low, he doesn't bark often, so we yell his name not sure if he would even bark for us to find him.. Thanks guys

| ![]() Oh no, I will send prayers for you that Jerry will be safe and return home soon. Can you put some food out around the area with some warm blankets in boxes if he comes back in the middle of the night?

![]() yes, good idea, we are going to leave lots of blankets at all the doors, I don't know how we are going to get any sleep, its pretty sad. Mostly because of the weather, we hope a Yorkie can find some way to survive a cold night.

![]() well, Jerry was found at the 1st sign of day break frozen solid. He must have got stuck and just couldn't handle the weather, we are shocked and wondering how we could have stopped it, .. its a sad day here. thanks for your prayers, but nature and circumstance seems to have taken Jerry away... Yorkies can't handle the cold weather, and if they get lost and its a cold below freezing night they will die, so keep that in mind please Last edited by ilovemeyorkies; 12-09-2009 at 11:52 AM.

![]() Jerry was just the sweetest little cuddle bum, he never barked or responded to his name, it sad, he wasn't even far from the house, if he could have just barked some more we could have saved him. We looked for 8hrs straight far and wide, it was so cold out. He has a little wife and worried she is not going to take it so well, they were together everyday for 8 long years... Some real pain when my girlfriend found him and was screaming she found him but he won't move.. oh man. Thanks for the good wishes. Last edited by ilovemeyorkies; 12-09-2009 at 12:15 PM.

![]() So so sorry for your loss! I know your pain all too well. Thanks too for the reminder about the cold weather. I used to have a little Min Pin that would get so stiff when she was out in the cold and she would literally stand still in one spot shivering unitl I had to go out and pick her up. Now, my little Mylee does the same thing. I guess it does something to the nerve endings in their tiny little paws and it hurts them to move, like hypothermia or something. Again, I am so sorry. Hugs!
