hey all,

so little cuj isnt so little anymore, hes a whopping 8 months old now. little guy had an awkward jump off a couch last week and for about 5 min after he was keeping his leg lifted but would still run around likes hes fine.

same thing has happened twice this week and it has me a little worried. im taking him by the vet tomorrow...any ideas whats wrong?

sounds like luxating patella and the patella is popping out so he holds it up then when it gets back in place he walks on it - another thing is acl injury

I try to prevent this type of injury by lifting my dogs on or off the bed/couch. They know to bark when they want down, if the steps aren't in place.

again it does sound like LP to me. i would go see a vet about this, it could get more serious and as a rule of thumb, a dog should never jump off any surface that it cannot initially jump up onto the begin with. jumping off things that are too high like a bed or couch can cause LP to show up and happen more frequently than dogs that don't jump off high surfaces.
