| Advice needed After suffering a huge loss of our 3 year old yorkie at the hands of a kennel we decided to get another yorkie puppy. We met with a breeder and the puppies all seemed healthy and were so adorable we decided to take two so they would always have a playmate. After the first couple of days we noticed a decrease in appetite in the smaller of the two (Roxy) and some vomiting and diarrhea. It turns out both of the puppies had severe roundworm infestations and coccidia. After 4 Emergency Room visits Roxy died. She was a tiny thing and the doctors did all they could but she did not make it. The next day the more robust Lola is experiencing all of the same symptoms. The vet has put her on Albon for the coccidia and she will be on it for 21 days. She is still very weak and had diarrhea and bloody stool and we have to force baby food down her so she won't become hypoglycemic. We are hopeful that she will make a full recovery but are still unsure at this time. We contacted the breeder and he said that because the puppies were healthy when we got them and for 3 Days after that he could do nothing. The vet told us that the coccidia that has made them ill takes nearly two weeks to become symptomatic so they got it at the breeders and there was no way we could have known. The breeder is in Florida (we picked them up) and I do not know what the law is but it doesn't seem right that there is no responsibility. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated as well as any suggestions for keeping Lola comfortable while whe recooperates. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry for all the tragic losses you have had. I would check to see if Florida has a lemon law, hopefully someone on here will know. I would also have your vet write a letter explaining that these puppies were sick before you took them. That is so terrible of the breeder to be like that. I am praying Lola makes a full recovery.

| I'm so sorry to hear about Roxy and pray for Lola's fast recovery. It is a shame that the breeder is going to leave you high and dry. I would hope that Patti is right when talking about a lemon law in Florida. I would definitely check it out... Did you have a health guarantee? If so, what does it state as far as what they will cover? I hope you are able to straighten this out with the breeder.

| I am so sorry to hear about your babies, I hope you will list the breeder's name here as I live in Florida and have been looking at different breeders for another baby. You may have to take the breeder to small claims court with your vet documentation. How horrible can people be?
