| Please read!!!! Collars The reason I am posting this, is I would have never thought about this happening. My Kingsley and Zoey were playing on the couch as usual. All of a sudden they started crying in pain. Zoey had her bottom jaw under Kingsley's collar, and he had turned over and was going crazy trying to get her loose. Well with that being said it was chocking him. By the time I got back with the scissors to cut the collar, my lil Kingsley was gone... I was in the kitchen floor crying my eyes out... My boyfriend who did not want any lap dogs walked up behind me and laid Kingsley's little head on my shoulder, and he begin to give me sugars... Eddie loved that lil "lap" dog and was not gonna give up on him, he gave him mouth to snout and brought our lil man back.. I no longer let them wear their collars unless they are going outside. I never thought that could have happened... PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!! If it had not been for Eddie I would not have my Kingsley or my new lil man. I panicked!!!

| Like I said I never had thought about that happening.. Shame on me I am now thinking about having a chip put in them just in case.. But my lil ones go outside on a leash so I can't forget to put the collar back on. Im sure yours will be fine.

| OMG! Me too....the tears were welling up and then YEAH! Your BF saves the day. Oh, I am so glad this ended up with tears of joy instead! Sophie wears a collar too, in the house. Perhaps I should consider removing it also except when she goes out to potty.

| Wow....what a scare that was! I am so happy to hear that your little one made it...Thank God your boyfriend was there to help! I have to rethink my collars too, i guess. I only use them for tags...but your story is real scary. Happy that it had a happy ending for you!

| Oh my goodness. Your bf deserves a great big steak dinner. He is a hero for sure. His quick thinking and calm approach saved your baby. He is a keeper in my book. Give your babies and your bf a great big hug from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie

Therapy Dog Donating Member | OMG your boyfriend is the hero of the day. Wow when I was reading your post I was thinking..oh man not another poor baby gone..but yeah!! a happy ending but a scary thing to happen. Izzy wears no collars in the house and only the choke free when outside. I do have one collar that we had to have for therapy training but that was it. So happy all ended well.

| I tell my new families when taking home a pup.....No collars....they can get hung up on anything, let alone the possibility of contributing to collapsed trachea. Use a harness when taking them for a walk, their tags can be placed on the D ring. Another thing to consider, and we ladies have all done this. Drying our bras on the door knob. I have a friend whose lil yorkie hung itself on the bra. The outcome was a not a good one as yours was. So, glad your boyfriend was a quick thinker and new what to do.

And I am VERY thankful that Eddie was there. He did stay calm. Something I need to learn how to do. I completly lost it when his little head fell and his tongue was hanging out. I guess he was like that about three min. It felt like a life time..I could not handle it at all. To watch my big man die right in front of me.. I cannot explain the feeling I had when Eddie laid his little head on my shoulder and Kingsley gave me sugars, they were weak, but he was trying so hard to show me he was going to be ok.. Kingsley always knows when something is wrong with one of us It took him about two days to get it all back together. Thank you all for the comments!! I hope that This may save someone else from the heartache that I went thru.
