| ![]() Where is the lump? I'm betting it's either from recent vaccinations or, if it's on his belly, a hernia. Either way, it's not serious so try not to worry. ![]() |

| ![]() Tick bites after they have healed can leave small hard bumps. Piper had a bump about the size of a pea after she had a tick on her. I did bring her to the vets and he said that it was just a reaction to the bite. It took weeks for the bump to disappear. I thought for sure she had some sort of growth.

| ![]() My friend just found something similar on her dog and it turned out to be a cactus thorn in-bedded in her skin. It didn't bother her but it started to get bigger so my friend took her to the vet. You may want to take him in to the vet so they can be the judge. |

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | ![]() My English Cocker Spaniels have also developed these fatty cysts. Mork, RIP, had a huge one growing under his front arm. They are usually benign. The vet just told me to keep an eye on it. Unfortunately the cyst grew very rapidly and when the vet took a needle test of the cyst, it was found to be cancerous. Mork not only had this cancerous tumor but had been suffering with arthritis. So, I had him put down. The other Cocker, Mazie (Mork's sister) has started developing these cysts also. They do not hurt her nor bother her. I just need to keep an eye on them to see if they end up growing rapidly or not. If they grow rapidly, they MIGHT be cancer. So I just check her each week, daily would be too often cause you might not really catch any size changes.

There are also tumors that are made up of blood vessels and many other varieties that are not cancer. So, do not be afraid of the word tumor.

| ![]() Don't panic just have it checked out by the vet. I just had two checked out last week. Buddy had two little hard bumps on his head. One under his left jaw and the other in the middle of his head. At first I thought ticks got on him but that was not the case. They were tiny cysts. The vet squeezed one and white stuff came out, much like squeezing a pimple. He tested the contents and all was fine. Not to worry he said. They are nothing. I forget what he called them something like sestic cysts but nothing to be concerned about. Good luck, |

| ![]() The little red spot might mean it is trying to come to a head, which would be good and sounds more like a cyst, like a pimple. I would call and let the vet know what has happened to it so far and see if he has any further suggestions. I am surprised he did not take a needle aspiration while you had him looking at it the first time. It would at least show him what was in there and if it was suspicious at all he could have the aspiration tested.
