| ![]() Thats probably what we're going to have to do. Mallie is a rescue, so they're not 100% sure how old she is, but they're estimating about 15 weeks.

| ![]() A puppy that young is at a higher risk for complications from pneumonia so needs needs to be hospitalized. Will the rescue help you with her vet bills? |

| ![]() If the ER vet says to bring her in we will definitely bring her back to the ER vet. As long as I know Mallie is being cared for properly, I have no problem hospitalizing her again.

| ![]() Both the vets we are working with cleared Mallie to come home. We picked her up a couple hours ago. They said her case of pneumonia was pretty mild, so we were fortunate to have caught it as early as we did or it could have been way worse. Mallie seems to have her spunk back. She's devouring the prescription wet food the vet gave us. She's running around and playing with Roman too. Her catheter is still in, just in case she would have to go back to medvet tonight, so her leg is all wrapped up. She's trying to chew on it so the vet let us take home an e collar just in case. Tonight it a big test as to how well her treatment is progressing. She's sleeping downstairs on the couch with my dad and he's a light sleeper so he'll be up atleast a few times to check on her. I am setting my alarm every 2 hours to get up and check her out and feed her a little food. We're just giving her a little bit of the food at a time and so far she's eating it quickly. She will need to be reevaluated by my vet tomorrow...so we're keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well. Also, we will get her blood tests back sometime tomorrow. So hopefully that looks good too. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

| ![]() Im happy to say Mallie is still doing well. She ate everytime I fed her last night. She even ate the wet/dry mixture I gave her this morning. She was up running around and playing with Roman again too. It's nap time already for them both now lol. I have a couple of classes today but each of my parents are taking a half day off work so she wont have to be alone. We're not comfortable leaving her alone just yet. While it seems this has passed, we're still not 100% in the clear. She's on 2 antibiotics so with the medicines and all the attention she's getting I hope she'll be better in no time!

| ![]() What a lucky girl she is to have both you and your parents! I am so glad she is doing better. I had a very sick girl when I first brought mine home and had to get up throughout the night, also....it became an unbelievable bond between the two of us. There is something amazing that happens when you have a little one that is so sick and so dependent on you...it sounds like you are doing such a great job. Good luck - you have lots of prayers and hugs coming your way! |
