| Skin problem Hello, I have a female,1 yr old Yorkie. She has recently started to develop little scabs on her back which can be easily scratched off, they don't seem to bother her but she keeps getting more and more. Also there is no hair around the scabs, which like i said come off easily and are dry. I was wondering if anyone has had yorkies with the same situation. Please, if anyone could reply back, it would greatly appreciate it |

| I would get her to the vet. Can't really help cause I'm not familiar with the bugs and stuff in Florida. She could have a secondary bacterial infection going on, on top of the initial insult of whatever it is. Goodluck, Welcome, and keep us updated!

| What do the scabs look like? Lily had this a little while back and it was canine impetigo - basically a bacterial infection. Her marks were dark brown/reddish and on her belly. They would start red and turn dark brown looking almost like a mole on a person. They also scratched off easily. The vet gave me an anti-bacterial cream and it went a way in a few days. I would try some hydrogen peroxide on the spots and then if it doesnt get better in a day or two take her to the vet. Do they bother her at all? What my dog had didnt bother her, itch etc. |
