Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Lola's eye leaks A LOT!!! I know Yorkie's sometimes have tear stains, but Lola's right eye leaks A LOT and I can see it filling up with fluid. Her eye starts to look kind of glossy and then she gets the tear stains. The other eye does it too, but not where I can see the fluid build up. It's definitely not as bad as her right one. I'm just wondering if you think this might be a possible eye infection? The liquid is pretty much clear, but it's just quite a bit, and it's not even in both eyes. If not an infection, does anyone have any suggestions that work? I heard about the Angel Eyes but I just wasn't sure if it really did work. Thanks so much everyone!! |

| I would definately have Lola checked out by her vet. I wonder if it could be a blocked tear duct? or maybe she has something under her eyelid. Sending her |

| Hi hun, before you take her to the vet try a few things. My yorkie has bad allergies. So I tried using an eye wash (HALO makes an amazing one found at Petco stores), and all things cleared up. It is also common for yorkies (long fur pups) to get some of their face hairs in their eyes (a little facial grooming will fix this), it is just as if our hair got into our eyes. If none of this works take her to the vet. Give her eyes time to adjust to the wash thou (its not going to work in one day). Another thing is she may have a condition in which her eyelashes grow into her eye instead of the usual way. |

| The eyelashes curling in is called, (spelling?) entropian. Usually that requires surgery though. But it is a fairly simple surgery. If that is what's wrong, get it done soon. The more it stays as is, the more scratching of the cornea. Imagie walking around 24-7 with some eyelashes stuck in your eye. They don't have to get it in both eyes. And like it was said above, might simply need a little face grooming. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks so much for your advice!! It's really hard to clean, not to sound gross, but it gets really hard on her hair and I tried using a little puppy wet nap but it didn't clean it. I will definitely be trying your suggestions! I'm worried because we went to the beach one windy day, and she was COVERED in sand!! The sand blew all over her, since she's so low to the ground. I did my best to clean it all up, and when I realized I carried her instead of the ground, but I'm thinking all it takes is one little grain to get in her eye to cause an infection. I'm hoping this is not the case. I can't remember if this is normal, or if the eye liquid is more than usual. It doesn't seem to be bothering her at all that I can tell....I'll try your suggestions, and then if that doesn't work, take her to the vet. Thank you so much!!! I just am a bit embarrassed because I feel like I'm always taking her to the vet.... but I just get worried...she is my life!!! |

| My Lola and myself are both having issues with our eyes right now. We finally have spring with and record heat. Everything is coming out all at once. The pollen count is ridiculously high! My vet recommended that I give her 1/2ml of benadryl twice a day. He also told me to wash her eyes twice daily with warm water to keep the krusty gunk at bay. It seems to help. She has a lot less tearing now. |
