| Lida Rose is in the hospital.... Lida just quit eating on Thursday. My mother had to go into the hospital on Tuesday and I had to go and stay with my dad. Hubby took her to the vet on Friday and they gave her some antibiotics and a shot to stimulate her appetite. I got home last night and this morning she refused fluids as well. We took her back to the vet and he couldn't find anything wrong, everything was negative she doesn't have a temp or anything, he doesn't know what it is. He kept her to start fluids and injections but he said if she doesn't start eating we will lose her. He is stumped, her stools are fine and she's not vomiting. I thought she might be ok when I got home to her, but she's lethargic and won't even lick water off my finger. Pray for us. Thanks.

| Oh my gosh, I hate to hear that. Very odd that everything checks out okay but she won't eat. I'll keep you and her in my thoughts and Godspeed to her.

| I'm sorry to hear that about Lida Have you tried nutrical on your finger? If she doesn't lick it place some on her tongue. Also some pedialyte in a syringe is a great added along with nutrical.

| We'll be thinking of little Lida Rose, can you force feed her some water or Nutrical via a syringe, as JCarlson2004 says? We hope she gets better real soon! |

| Yes, please use the syringe to feed her some water and soft baby food. If you mix human baby rice cereal with goats milk and karo syrup or corn starch to a consistency that you can pull up the syringe and feed her by mouth of course about 15 ccs every four hours you can sustain her until she feels like eating on her own. How old is she? Any other symptoms. Please hang in there...I know it is scary and all....but pkease do not lose hope. ...and remember we are here for you too if you need help. |
