| dangers of tile floors Hello, I just wanted to post that we lost our little rhenny last friday...she was less than 2 lbs and 8 months old...she would do this little charging thing like a bull when she was excited..well I fell asleep on the couch and she scratched on me to wake me up to go outside...well she got excited and was doing her charging thing and stepped back off the couch...I reached to get her but she had hit her tiny head on the tile...we rushed her to the emergency clinic but they couldn't revive her..the vet said her little brain started to swell and that's why she died...so my point is please , please put something soft beside the couches if you have tile floors...we blocked the railings on the stairs moved all wires and did everything to protect her I could think of but it never crossed my mind that the floor could kill her...I so blame myself ...we had her creamated and she'll be coming home in the next few days... |

YT 2000 Club Member | Im so sorry. ((hugs)) It was not your fault, Accidents happen. We have hard wood floors in our kitchen and on Mother's Day almost 3 years ago my beagle and sheltie were playing in the kitchen and my sheltie jumped up on me all excited, slipped and fell backwards, I heard a thud and when I looked down he was in a dazed state, wasnt focusing on anything and ended up having back to back siezures. We rushed him to the vet, he was fine but now is on perement seizure medicine and about every 6 to 8 months he has a siezure. I am petrified that it will happen again so I panic whenever my dogs are out in the kitchen playing, I chase them back in to the living room.
