| How can you determine if your yorkie is sick? I want to find out how you can tell if your little is sick or have a fever. Reason why I ask is... I went to my vet this past Sunday for his bordatella shot and booster shot. The second day, he wasn't himself much. In the morning he will usually run around and play while I get dress for work, but for the past 2 days, he went back to his bed when I take him down from my bed (because he is not allow to jump from my bed to the floor). He didn't eat in the morning like he will normally do, but i had to try to get him to eat at night. The doctor said that he could be tired out with the 2 shots. Could this be the issue?

Donating YT 10K Club Member | To determine if he has a fever...take his temperature. A dog's normal temp runs from 100 - 102. Some dogs get sick from bordatella. When to go to the vet? If your dog has any of the following symptoms...whether singluarly or together.... vomiting repeatedly, is running a fever, is lethargic, or persistent diarrhea.

| That is very normal (especially if he was given lepto) for a couple days but if it continues, the vet needs to know. If his gums are anything other than pink, he needs to see the vet.

| It's important to have a basic first aid kit for your dog which includes a thermometer. Here is how to take a temperature: How to Take Your Dog’s Temperature |

| I called my vet to ask them what are the symptoms for the shots and the nurse said that they may not eat and not themselves. I asked how long it last and she said normally it is 24hours, but with smaller dogs, it may take a little longer. He did eat last night, but just not in the morning... I should've bring him for his shot after my trip. I will be out of town tomorrow and I am boarding him, that is the one thing that sucks. Hope he is doing much better when i get home tonight. I hate having to leave on a trip with him like that. He will probably loose some weight when I come back because I believe he wont eat. Doc said he is a little overweight too. When boarding him, if he won't eat. Is there any subsitution which I can have the facility know or should I bring in case he wont eat. Should I also give him nutacal too?

| did he get bordatella shot or intranasal as the shot is much worse and many dogs react to the shot - my parents silky who is 7 and never was ever sick ever got sick from bordatella shot as they did shot this year not intranasal so we marked his file to only give intranasal now so that could be it but he was dry heaving for two days |
